HDFC Ragalia gold annual fees charged even though it was sold as LTF

So hear me out. I have been receiving multiple emails from HDFC offering me lifetime free cards. Anyways I applied online where it clearly said lifetime free. Fast forward to December statement, I see a 2500 rs annual fee plus taxes. Shot an email to their grievance email only to be told its not a free card, they completely disregarded the screenshots I submitted. Called their customer care, it took 6 attempts to speak to a live person and the overall experience was pathetic to say the least. Is there a way around ?

But I do have screenshot showing it's lifetime free card...
Did it say Nil charges or something in the welcome letter? If some charges were indicated, did you confirm from customer care if it was a paid card? If you have either, then there might be a case. If not, merely with screenshots at the time of applying, it'll be tough.
they sneakily mention spend amount to get the card free below the zero.
Screenshot will only work if you are lucky from customer care
Only if you have 2 things clearly visible in screenshot
1) screenshot clearly stating "life time free" by striking out the renewal fee,
2) with NO FOLLOWING OF asterisk's at the bottom "*" saying "you need to spend this much lakhs" in small letters -> THIS SHOUDN'T BE SHOWN IN THE SCREENSHOT
only then you really applied for LTF or else you applied FYF
always whenever you apply HDFC card after getting it delivered and AFTER activation, call their customer toll free and verify if its lifetime or PAID CARD, else they will charge annual renewal fee on the 3rd month after activation
if they said its FYF card and you have proper proof of screenshot displaying "only life time " without "any asterik conditions below" then you can mail the screen shot to their customer service email id [email protected] and they will convert the card to LTF
Thats how I got my LTF since i had proper proofs with really LTF with no asterisk conditions
or else you are out of luck 
How can i get ltf regalia gold?
I got my card in Aug 2023 , but i am charged 2950 in Dec statement .
Called CC , they gave random reply that fee can be charged anytime b/w 90-120 days.
I've heard that Hdfc normally charges fee after 3 months..
So I think it's normal in ur case
HDFC Regalia gold is never free for any customer.
