Hi Guys, I am seeing a heavy data usage on my Jio fiber yesterday. After 4 pm yesterday around 800+ GB data has been consumed which I have not used. I generally use 20 gb per day only. When I reported this to jio they said you have only used it. But I have not used it. Is there any way to check this how this data got consumed?

Change password….
Maybe change your wifi password?
Most likely it’s the password
By bandwidth meter apps..
@LIMBO I forgot the windows application you told me which gives detailed breakup of data usage application-wise (@161508 account)
If we have any app like this then it would be useful for me to track down. Let me know the app name.
I changed my password today around 8 pm and after that also I see from 8.24 till 8.47 somewhere 31 GB got consumed.
It’s unlimited right so why to worry about your consumption
there is still a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) capped at 3,333GB post which it will reduce speeds to 1,024Kbps

This is simple to deal with if you have Dlink or similar router. Haven’t used Jio so no idea if it allows such connection.
What you do is, allow only 2-3 known MAC addresses of laptops and phones to connect with your router.
Then on devices you know won’t be consuming high speed data e.g. parent’s phone, limit upload, download bandwidth to 5mbps
See if it makes a difference.
If not, apply the same limit to remaining devices temporarily for a day or so and check again if consumption is low
I had installed some software to check something on cloud related to my work – if you work on Microsoft Azure then you will understand better that I installed Microsoft hosted integration runtime on my laptop and there was a process inside that diahost.exe it consumed 800 gb data as per the data usage I saw on my laptop. I just uninstalled it.
there must some background application running on your laptop or desktop. cross verify.
and also change ur password.
Is there any application for checking total data I used on all the devices on wifi?
+1
They have network monitoring apps for passwords so when a device connects they also get the password to login. Only way is to only allow known IP’s to the device.. Although I have not seen this but it does show all IP’s which are connected..
What speed connection? seems 800GB would take like 3 days at least to consume.. Also service provider can make mistakes.. I know since I got a bill for 30k for 4 hours of usage which never happened..
Speed is 300 mbps using Jio Fiber. I found out the issue. There was a process in my laptop diahost.exe which was consuming it. It consumed 800gb of data alone. I have uninstalled it now.
Why are we seeing cricketers names instead of ours?

Any way in TP Link or via router on how much consumption is made each month.. My ISP doesn’t provide… It’s unlimited tho.. No FUP….but still just wanna know my consumption 🤔… Anybody?
Earlier routers used to have SNMP using which a software(like networx) could find out the total amount of data passing through the router but nowadays you will need to install custom firmware on a supported router to get this functionality. There are also expensive asus routers with Merlin firmware support which has this option of “Traffic Manager” where you can see the data usage per device.
After reading this article. I think my neighbour has also changed his wifi password
