As far as I can speculate 2 options

1) If the company is at loss they can use that as reason to defend themselves later for a less compensation to settle you once you go for case (you wont get full salary if the company is really at loss even after court case)

2) If the company is cheating you and in profits, then you can file a case and get your money back for the work you done already:) but beware they will throw you out then on:)

It is better to leave the company why stay when they are not able to pay for your work. How about your co workers whether they are being payed if yes then you might not need. Whatever it is don't attach to the company attach to jobs and responsibilities you take on the day and leave the office with satisfaction for the work you have done you will be proud.

If work doesn't give any motivation then point in being there

You are not permanent you are always replaceable

Raised this issue on social media, especially on Twitter and do tag the local police along with gov where u were doing job, directly, approaching any lawyers will lead u to further financial debt rather than solution as almost all lawyers will see ur problem as their opportunities to grab money, and even u know how laggish our judiciary system is.

Go to the LinkedIn page of the said company and write a review of how you are being dealt with. Atleast someone will not suffer due to this. It's also possible that the company pays you in lieu of removing the review.

I faced similar situation with one of the companies in Mumbai and Delhi. Filed cybercrime cases related to job frauds, as I wasn't getting paid. Sent the screenshot of the same to the relevant people. Mumbai one has paid me after seeing the complaint. The one in Delhi is still arguing with me and says that he will file a case against me.
