I have 4 month old carrier AC. Cleaned it’s filter 2 times . From last 2 days it is smelling bad odor, just like wet clothes kept from few days. What should I do? Bad odor only last for 5 min after running ac but smell restore when I keep ac OFF for 5-6 hours
Try without the filter for a few days and see if it still emits the same bad odor, we need to work it out from there.

Already checked and also cleaned today same issue. Also filter has no odor,
Clean/flush the outdoor unit with water and let it dry for 5-6hrs. Later check it.
Also clean the indoor unit carefully with vinegar dipped cloth.
Check for any auto clean function in your remote.. it will heat the coil and all clogged ice and dust will be washed out through drain pipe.
…due to accumulation of dust inside….moist dust gives this smell….just go for a service…

If this is split air conditioner, cleaning the outdoor unit is not going to solve it, the air inside the room is circulated only using the indoor unit. The outdoor unit holds the compressor that circulates the ac refrigerant gas and has nothing to do with the air with bad odor being circulated inside the room.
