I don’t think this will be of any help for me as employees of my sbi branch are typical sbi employees and they don’t bother much about there customers 😔

He told me full story -
Yes submitted the form on Thursday if I remember correctly. It didn't issue correctly at first despite hotlisting JCB from Yono. The staff lady tried to issue IOCL many times earlier and failed. She also had no idea. Then she told me something I didn't know and said maybe she could try that as a last resort.
Even after hotlisting a card from our end, it's only temporarily blocked in SBI's system unless the staff puts a "Permanently blocked" mark on it. If the system now has a 1-RuPay card limitation, she may have to permanently hotlist JCB first. I told her "Go ahead, try that". She tried and it worked. Yesterday it started showing finally as "Request accepted" for IOCL. Numerous earlier attempts by SBI staff when 1st RuPay card existed were failing to get 2nd RuPay issued by the system.

I just closed my JCB card through net banking and chose the option "permanent". The card status is shown as "Closed" now.
gischethans wrote:I did the same earlier when I hotlisted it from net banking. 🙂 You know SBI staff can be wrong sometimes, maybe it is permanently hotlisted when we block it from our end itself. I was just quoting what the lady told me. It did get me the IOCL DC. 🙂I just closed my JCB card through net banking and chose the option "permanent". The card status is shown as "Closed" now.

Par mere siva koi theek se yahan pe bata hi nahin raha ki SBI ne unke account se kisi bhi saal mein koi bhi RuPay Platinum ke liye charges liye they ya nahin. In fact no charges taken for any card from my account after Feb 2021.😂 I wonder if because my account type is SB Plus (auto sweep).
No issuance charge for SBI IOCL rupay platinum?

if you have considerable amount in SB , maybe thats the reseaon I Guess.
your base branch is General SBI brance or special type ? if you could
ewater wrote:Even regular savings account has no MAB any more, I think all SBI accounts are 0 balance. But yes, I did maintain for long period huge MAB in SBI due to auto sweep. But it didn't work reliably so moved to Kotak. SBI accounts are now very low MAB yet so far no card ISSUANCE charges taken. Annual charges WILL be taken at the beginning of FY 2023 surely. My SBI branch is a general branch.

Regarding Permanently blocking SBI DC, I think it can be done through Web netbanking too under block/hotlist atm cards:

That's what I did before going to the branch to request IRP but the lady at the branch said this only blocks the card at customer level (they can't use it, and no charges are taken) but unless staff/branch puts a further marker of permanently blocked in their system, other cards may have trouble getting issued by the system software. I was surprised to hear this and didn't believe her at all but she did get me the IOCL debit card which was failing earlier continuously.
Applied for New card through branch "IRP"
after blocking existing cards. Will check on Netbanking after 2 days if my dc is generated or not 🙂

Do we need to maintain 1 Lakh MAB to get this card?
DemonSlayer wrote:Not really
But I did sent extra money beforehand, so they couldn't give me any stupid reason for rejection
After acceptance, I transferred my money back to icici
How much should we temporarily maintain in our account?

Just for one or two days, check on Netbanking/YONO, if in atm cards, a new card is added. Do whatever u want with you money.
1 lakh for visa/mastercard Platinum.
This is official t&c - some branch staff maybe not aware about this t&c.
Note - you can also get RuPay Platinum on zero balance or minimum account balance (some branch staff will issue the card without checking your account balance).
