@RupeeBachao if you have great relation with your RM (which is a rare thing with our RMs lol ), your account won’t be downgraded…HDFC itself doesn’t downgrade the accounts in Classic or Preferred…I have seen several people not maintaining 1 lac in Classic & 2 lacs in Preferred but there accounts didn’t get downgraded…It’s upto your RM to decide if he/she will downgrade your account or not but considering most (if not all) RMs are crap in most Indian banks and they are only interested in forcing you to buy Insurance policies,MFs, SIPs, FD/RDs & some other crap banking services to achieve their “targets” which you may never need…So, you should not take the chance of not maintaining the AMB if you really want to stay in Classic…

P.S. My Yes Bank RM told me once to close my FD which I booked online just 1 day before & do an FD through him & transfer all my balance from other banks to my Yes Bank Account because he is not being able to meet his targets for that month…

RMs are a joke in Indian banks…Several times I had to block the number of my RMs…

@Sushrut.B Suppose my account got downgraded to some other variant.Then, Do they charge immediately for platinum debit card(750+gst)?

As per my experience..
Mine is a 12 yr old account, originally opened as zero balance, for with basic atm card. Rarelly used it for coming few years.. and kept hardly 1k in that for next 6yrs.
Than.. got it converted to salary account, got easy shop dc offered lt free.
Around.. 2yr back.. salary credits stopped into hdfc, they changed it to normal saving account..and enforced 10k mab requirement.

But dc was never charged or downgraded from easyshop.
PS. I maintain bare minimum 10k mab, and a standard customer right now.

If we pay credit card bill with easy shop platinum card will we get rewards ?

Classic customer for 3 years. Never had more than 20000 balance since 2018, still enjoying all previleges. Current balance is Rs.59. Enjoying platinum debit card for free, it’s 750 pa otherwise. After classic upgrade, got regalia first credit card too. RM calls once in a while asking for any loan requirements. It may be after seeing my balance, my RM never asked me to start an FD

Earlier i was maintaining 10k in my basic account but now a days my saving account balance is 1lakh+. Will i get upgrade automatically or should i call rm or visit branch.
