How do I get my mother's FD claimed after name changed and no other proofs to show?

Hi,
My mother name is SUNITA KUMARI on aadhar, PAN, And recently we found that she had an old Fixed Deposit of Rs.40k in Punjab National Bnak in year 2001, and now that amount maturity is almost Rs.1,60,000, but now problem is arising that, that time my mom use to write SUNITA GUPTA and branch manager saying, we cant help you. You have to bring the saving account of SUNITA GUPTA then only you can withdraw money of Rs.1.6 lakh
Today we submitted affidavit signed by notary of “kumari and gupta to be same person” to bank, and still they are saying, this affidavit is useless, because we want sunita GUPTA’s account only to transfer money. But mother has only saving account in the name of sunita kumari only.
so guys what is the alternative solution now ? or my money stucked ?

Was there any savings account in PNB of our mother where name was changed?
If you have any documents of that you can mention that along with it.
in same branch saving account is on the name of KUMARI.
Second option would be to add your name too in the same FD and then withdraw the same in your savings bank account.
I am not sure if that possible.
Manager only savings to bring account of gupta is not possible and playing games with you.
Is there any document of your mother in the earlier name like School leaving certificate etc?
nothing we have, they knw its my account, but they are saying computer wont understand the difference of name.
Your mother must have some proof like dob certificate, or 10th marksheet or voter id .
If not having that proof now just try to complain in the regional office of the concerned bank.
Complaint won’t help.
For name change proper procedure had to be followed.

Contact manager(friend) of another bank, they will know solution.
Or see if u can change your mother’s name back to FD name

yes, my mother cant change the name, as there are other 5 accounts are linked to new NAME,
He’s right. Notary affidavit is useless. Get it signed with a magistrate at least so that you can file legal charges against him if he fails to comply with that.
Another thing, how can they stop any FD money?? Isn’t that supposed to get added to savings account at the end of tenure?

not linked to any bank accounts…so unless someone produces account/ID with the name on FD they wont give the money.
Tedious task. Lot of paper work and approach top executive. Base branch managers don’t take things on themselves after choksi and malya…specifically PSU’s
Bro i faced same kind of issue 
with my mother fd in State bank of india and lic money. You can put small column in local news paper regarding that her name is change and mention the reason and also mention affidavit number that her name is changed And after this on the basis of newspaper cutting and affidavit you can withdraw your money. It cost around 150 to 300 rs to get published small column in news paper now day newspaper offer name change request online no need to go to their office.
Agar itna karne ke baad bhi manager kuch panga kare toh file complaint against him.
This will surely work because this is the legal way

Best and the easiest way to solve your problem :
Ask the branch official to close the FD and pay the amount via demand draft in the name of Sunita Kumari.
Since you are the holder of the instrument there should not be any problem about that.
Next go to any other bank and submit the demand draft along with an indemnity bond stating that both Sunita Kumari and Sunita Gupta at the same person, no effidavit or any other legal documents required.

PS : after reading the above posts i find it fucking hilarious is how limited banking knowledge people possess these days. One has to understand that banking knowledge is not only about abusing bankers
As per the banking law no complaint would do fuck all to the branch manager, he is absolutely correct
would this work ? what if other bank wont accept the Indemnity bond and reject my DD. 
If you need the money urgenly then you kindly contact the ombudsman otherwise

If the physical FD is available, your mother should discharge the FD by signing on the FDR and giving an authority letter to the bank signed by your mother stating that the payment should be transferred to your account in the same bank or another bank. This had worked in my case with Bank of Baroda. Hope this can help.
they are saying, we wont transfer to any other account, they want same name printed on FD.
