I think for incoming purpose only, put sim in any jiophone, recharge for 49 and then divert calls from that jio phone to your other number, after 14 days just put that in any other smartphone. Or if incoming smses also required then put sim after recharge in your mobile, so it should work for 14+90 days but no outgoing or internet possible on other smartphone with Jiophone plan

How do i keep JIO sim active i just want an active number. suggest some basic plan.

Does this really work.
One of my jio sim stopped working since no recharge for six months. Will it be active again in Rs.10

Yes it will work if the number is still yours.
NB: Only incoming will be active post recharge.
As per TRAI guideline, If you have not used the mobile number for 90 days whose balance is less than Rs 20, then operators can deactivate your number.
So just keep you balance above 20 Rs (Probably 50-100 Rs) to keep it active.

Still no incoming.
Still It says switched off. But the phone is on .
What next
In this case, I think, it is because of the inactivity for a long period of time.
Just get any plan of a small amount (try 1 day or 2-day plan) and after the expiry of that your number will be fine for incoming only. (Just keep that Rs.7 in that forever)

But I will be in N.America where there is no coverage. How does it work in that case?

For international use, you need international roaming plan.
LOL. That will cost me an arm and a leg! That sucks. Okay, I will just have to keep buying new SIMs each time.😩 Infinitely cheaper than the roaming plan.
