How do you guys maintain your Water Purifiers? I have Kent Grand RO and filter replacements are expensive.

Accept it as necessary expense, part of life.

Change your pre filter regularly, your ro life will increase.  Pre filter are available at very cheap price. You can do this yourself.

Maintenance expenditure depends on input water quality. Try to install install a cheap optional pre-filter at water inlet to minimize damage to main water purifier.

Many times replacement alarms are triggered based on preset time durations rather than actual choking. Try to reset the alarm and resume functioning unless water flow stops. Maintenance personnel earn a lot of commission on replacing filters more frequently than required. Try to pre plan filter replacements based on ur actual water consumption and guaranteed capacity of filters

What are you guys paying for pre-filter. How frequently should I change it. TDS is around 300

I have learnt to replace and repair parts of kent.it was one time process and now I do servicing by myself from past 3 years

I have Aquaguard Booster. 

Purchase cost 12000.

AMC Cost 2400 for 2 years.

1 filter replacement/year.

Buy from trusted source only. Kent for sure is expensive but its service is outstanding from others. Technician visits usually the same day of complaint and escalation desk is helpful too. I tried switching to aquaguard but stepped back after I noticed their sales technician that they sent for demo was giving false and misleading information. Another option I was considering was Urban company Native .. you can switch to that if you want. I wanted no compromise on service quality so sticked with kent again for my 4th RO also.

Also with kent.. their machines are fitted to start alarming after 1 year .. so usually when technician make visit to renew AMC.. I get the filters clean and alarm reset first.. that way the filters on my less used machines last more like 1.5 years.

I have blue star RO UV UF, its filter kit (all filters) cost is 2500 which is ok. You can try it.

Any suggestion for good UF +UV water filter .My Kent Maxx is nearing it's end after almost 10 years.

It's so easy to replace Water filters like RO, membrane, external filters. 
I will do it by myself by purchasing these filters from an offline store.

It's a no brainer task and doesn't need any AMC at all.

Water is the most important thing for your life. Don't risk for saving a few thousands.

For eg: Calculate 4k per year saved x 30 number of years. It is only 1.2 lakhs for 30 years for good healthy kidneys.

Dont use RO water it is bad for health espicially children , better take normal filter and if PH calue of water in your area is bad try shifting to some other place even if on rent

Got kent ultra 3 in 1 some 7/8 years ago....living in pune...so good water supply from municipality

Just today morning cleaned the sediment and carbon filter....working as good as new now..had replaced it in jan 2023...i usually change it after rainy season..cost around 1k....i install the carbon n sediment filter myself as kent themself wld charge arnd 1500

Haven't ever changed the UV filter...will have to check on that

Got one non-branded one from a local service center guy who works as a service guy for Pureit, Kent and Havells RO.

Its been 4 years and he did the filter replacement for 2 times for ₹500 only.

I've Kent Grand Plus RO. I service it myself. I buy the parts from local Kent service center by visiting them. I change the "Sediment" & "Carbon" filter around 1 to 1.5 years. I change the "Membrane" filter (Most expensive filter) only when it's either getting choked or water TDS is rising or both. I test water TDS regularly. It must be below 50.  

Using Aquagaurd UV+ since 12 years in Municipal water

(Its work only to remove mud/fine dust, chlorine and disinfect with UV lamp)

Availed 2 Free service within warranty period

after that Self service in 6 months (Service = cleaning water tank and all filters)

(Always check UV lamp is working)

Never changed any filter yet.

NOTE: (For better/extended life) keep purifier switched off and switch it on when need to filter water.

All the Brands have timer settings and after reaching certain hours/days/years, purifier start to blink red (but still its good to use). They play with customers mind with spreading fear.

Never use RO as many studies suggested that its harmful as its remove essential minerals from water 

get a TDS meter for 100-150rs

only change pre filters 3-4 times a year depending on the quality of source water. get the transparent ones so you can see the discoloration of filters as they degrade.

if you use municipal water (which is generally treated) of TDS is around 300-400, don't use RO. just get a purifier with UV+ UF+ Carbon filter and a pre filter for sediment.

incase if you already have a purifier with RO, and if your source water TDS is lower than 400 remove/ bypass RO and connect directly to UV and pass it through UF and carbon filters.

drink safe water and be safe guys.

RO is not always safe.

Ro water eats your bones

I had the same Kent RO. It got too expensive after some time. But after I gave it off I realised that the Delhi made after market parts fit and work just fine. Am from Mumbai but RO is used more in Delhi than Mumbai. So all parts come from there.

I am using livpure pep pro plus. The RO membrane provided by the company cannot be opened which cost around 2200 right now . So, Buy a RO membrane from local market which can be opened. Cost me around 1600. Then whenever your RO membrane stops working. just open it and replace the cartidge which will cost around 900(search for knovio neer membrane) for the best one at amazon. Then You are good to go for atleast a year. I am using my purifier for 4 years. I have changed twice RO and 4-5 times pre filter candle and nothing else. This hack cost me around 1200 a year. Better than 8700 AMC for 3 three years which is 2900 a year.
