What are the criteria to shortlist an item you need to purchase? (Items you actually need, not a random purchase you just buy coz there was a deal)

Do you look for offers first and then choose the item based on offers or do you shortlist the item and just look if you can find a deal on it?

Or do you have some other criteria?

First decide what all you need to purchase. Create priority list. Look for best price, offers available. I also check product review comments to see what price someone purchased the same product during sale. Wait for the right offer.

Avoid 'urgency' at least for costly items. Plan in advance 😊

So basically, you finalize which item models to buy and then start looking for the best offers on it.

Sometimes you can't plan for things.

Let's say you phone dies and you need to buy a new one in maybe max a week. You shortlisted a phone that you like and is best suited for your need but has no offer currently and you can't wait for more than a week.

Will you leave that phone and go for a different phone just to save some money? or will you just buy something cheap and buy your planned phone later?

How does this urgency affect what you purchase decision?

First I ask to myself whether I need this product or not. Then after making the decision, I google that product and compare the prices. Then when i get the product at lowest price, firstly i try to check the seller reputation and his overall credibility, if the seller is new Then i won't consider it and if the seller is old, I'll give it a try. Then i read the recent negative reviews ( i don't trust positive reviews anymore ). Then i check the past history of product price at pricehistory for rough estimate. Then i compare the offers with pricehistory. I mostly assume that during the price drop, the offer would be much lesser as compared to higher price. Then i check the no cost EMI offer for emi cancelation trick Then i proceed further for the final payment page. I, sometimes, compare the quality and price of the product with offline retailers and if there is any 4% to 8% difference between them then I will go with offline.

Now I prefer offline mostly because of touch and feel. I can feel the product right at that moment before purchasing it like dimensions, colour, durability of components or quality of fabrics

Yepp, you too are shortlisting the product first and then you are shifting your focus into looking for best offer on that product.
But now let's say the item your decided and looked all of the reviews for and that best suits your need does not have any offers, does this change your decision to purchase it and your switch to an alternative item which has some offer.

1st I finalize an approx budget

Then look for products available on that budget with or without offer

look for reviews on all platforms like Youtube, Amazon, Flipkart, Any other sites from Google

Then finalize the product which will be best for my needs.

Then I search howcan I get more discount on that. That's where Desidime comes into play.

If there is any product which I finalized and saw on price history, that price of that product comes down frequently, then I wait for price drop.
