No Idea
or 'franchisee' of pharmacy brands (example; Walgreens Boots Alliance, CVS Health Corporation)?
I still see even the barely passed 'B. Pharma' graduates letting shopkeepers misuse the certificate at as less as 9000-10000₹ per month also.
(Shopkeeper shows that a qualified B. Pharma person is working at the pharmacy/ shop. It is the law of the land, to have a qualified person disburse medicines.)
Obviously the day to day counter staff are family members or others.
The on-paper B. Pharma 'employee' has often not even seen the shop, much less work there.
So if this is happening, it is HIGHLY unlikely that the 'fighting for margins' situations have gone THAT bad.
Stockists and top distributors with frontend retail operations or those retailers with good linkages
often PERMANENTLY offer 17-18% FLAT DISCOUNTS on non-OTC (non over-the-counter, non FMCG) medicines https://content.jdmagicbox.com/comp/indore/g2/0731px731.x731.180419175338.g3g2/catalogue/anu-chemist-nx-kanadia-road-indore-chemists-kexin.jpg

When a chemist is sourcing medicines at 20-22% and offering at 18-20% then my friend, there is a fighting of margins.
And topic is not that who is using whoevers certificate, topic is about profitability.
medicine business has good margins but now due to online players offering good discounts .margin is reduced as most shops give discount between 10-20%
Not guessing bro, on branded drug margins are very less, sourcing is at 22% max , for generic drug there is 60% margin.
Not talking about wholeseller as one has to put heavy capital in that.
M asking about retailing.
Aaj kal har 100 meter pe ek chemist shop dikh jati hai , toh log survive kaise kar rhe hai and from a newbie to start from fresh, kya vo kuch kama payega?
In last few years Apollo has been very aggressive towards pharmacy chain built a network of more than 5000 stores.

My 3 friends and an uncle owns their own pharmacy shops, upon several discussions nd seeing their bills , i confirmed my statement that their branded meds are sourced at 20-22% (95%) , and generic comes at 60-70%.
If still this is a mental block then what can i say
