How to deal with neighbors when doing Work From Home ?

Hi Dimers,
I am an IT engineer working remotely since last 2 years. More savings, more family time, more time to work on myself, these are all the perks I am enjoying while doing work from home. But my whole society/colony/mohalla think that I am jobless
I have heard people talking about me and my brother(he's also doing work from home), "doctor sahab kere ladika padh padh ghar waapis aae gye, bade kaabil bannt rahaen" .
Every month, when I go for haircut in nearby shop in my locality, he asks , "bhaiya koi form worm daal do, kahin na kahin huiye jaahi "
Please suggest how to deal with this situation. What can be the simplest words to explain what I do to them or should I totally ignore this.

Same happened with me when i was in college, i used to visit my native every Saturday - sunday, one day my neighbour asked me that you were studying in rajkot ( city of my college), have you left your studies. I replied her that i am still studying and i am topper of my college last year.
Nothing can be done except if they came to know automatically.

Go to their house and make sure you go there at 7 in mrng and come back at 9. Have all the calls lined up for that day only.

+1, I also thought the same & came for advice on the same since I am working from home too but I work in different room where I visit only during working hours for work.
I face the sane thing there either too much loud / disturbance or neighbors mumbling outside why does this guy come here daily between 9 to 6 and always keep doors & windows locked from inside 🤣🤣

OP, I also faced the same issue last month when I stayed at my village for a month I had visited with my laptop (since I am working from home), for first week it was ok since everyone thought I am there for a week leave as time passed everyone started assuming I am jobless & hence came back to village to pass my time 🤣🤣 everyone was like job chutt gayi kay apki, itna time yahan? Kam nahi karte kay? Naukari nahi hai aapke paas? 🤣🤣
