so cervical cancer which is primarily caused by mostly by HPV (human papiloma virus) { 99% of all causes acc to WHO } is spread most predominantly via sexual contact and is predominantly via more than 12 high risk different strains if the virus but mostly 4 variants are the majority of these causing CERVICAL CANCER and imp part is the vaccines at present Doesn't have FULL SPECTRUM effectiveness on all strains but target the high risk ones mostly when administration is done in multiple doses (mostly 4 doses) between 9 -13 yrs (before attaining pubert, as sexual active age starts post that is the thought process) and costs a lot( by indian ppp standards) even though government has come up with a subsidised one ...... and is MAJORLY spread via RESERVOIRS in MALE SEXUAL partners but MALE Doesn't have equivalent aggressive CANCER & isn't known to have any SIGNIFICANT SYMPTOMS so most of it can't be detected without extensive diagnostic intervention..... So to control CERVICAL CANCER we need to VACCINATE BOTH MALE & FEMALE to meaningfully CONTROL HPV but at a COST that's not affordable at any extent of liberally thinking through this
And the incidence of CERVICAL CANCER isn't anything near other DEADLY aggressive CANCERS prevalent in INDIAN demographics having said that NO PERSON & HIS LIFE isn't meant to be WORTH nothing.... And every LIFE is IMPORTANT but there is far more useful USE OF THE RESOURCES (especially awareness about CANCER ) than this..... But kindly understand the nuance here it has to be vaccinated via multiple doses using potent multi strain vaccine to both the sexes which is a difficult ask given the current Scientific capabilities and socio economic situation ..... So that's the nuance I want to add as some SOCIAL MEDIA with a pharma company in association with a so called CELEBRITY ( is burning the resources which isn't going to have a very good effect)
