I have received power bill today i just shocked I got triple bill really shocked my regular avg bill was 184rs now I received 443₹ even I am not at home from lockdown still its too much bill it’s government this lotty charge on normal peoples through this bill

How come only 184 rs for a month? Have you done any jugaad for getting such low bill? Usually people would get bill 10 times more than this amount.

Smart enough. Last year same month bill, instead of last month bill. People would have started using ac’s in summer starting April. But what about people who are not staying home because of lock down.

Why are you posting as if all over India bill will be same. Electricity is under state govt. So every state will have different bill. You have not mentioned your state.
Here Karnataka govt is not billing for this month and next month 2 month bill will come.

Which state do you belong to ? Maybe you can contact you electricity service provider and explain your situation. They might be able to help you out.

Tsspdcl or Tsnpdcl ? Btw how did you get the bill amount,msg or u checked in tsspdcl website? And ya ,for tg govt power sector ,have one over enthusiastic advisor (i don’t want to mention his name),this crap is from his mind.actually he decided that customer needs to pay march 2019 bill amount as march 2020. don’t know what are the consequences if we pay or if we not.i already decided not to pay.

For this month they are saying it would be of last year’s bill amount, and while paying bill people will get to know they are charging in this manner, then if people have more usage of AC this year becoz previous year was of 3k and this yr it ll be same ,in that way how will it work ??

They will adjust the bill irrespective of you living there or not. If you’re about to leave then let your owner know about your plan and ask him to keep an eye on next bill in which he should issue you refund or don’t pay this month’s bill and tell owner that you will pay him once the bill is fixed.
There are so many problems which will come in days to come. Electricity bill getting increased by Rs. 260 would be nothing then.
My bill increased from 600 to 950 as they averaged last 6 month’s units.

in my case too, i recently came to the rented house, i was charged 2600 tsspdcl where my regular monthly charge come around 700-800 , i am shocked and learnt that tsspdcl started charging based on 2019March month, which is unfair,
Now i dont want to pay this month & next month bill (if same case), will my bill be recalculated later and can i pay 3 months due in may month? Any penalty or charges will be there??

cant be justified, i checked meter readings and everything is accurate. i think slight chang gives you the last slab @ 7.8 rs per unit i think.

For your information, every year energy charges changes from 1st April, and cycle goes on and on.
If you check power generation website, you will also find change of charges on daily basis according to demands from government and private companies.
