Few year back i bought duke 250 ... its good for travelling for long distance ... but in city its milage is really very less... so i had decided to buy a Activa... but now i am confused.. shud i go for electric vehicle one or petrol ?
or suggest me a best electric under 1L.

it comes in same price bracket as activa or any petrol head or electric power train 2 wheeler.
Differentiators would be mileage(check reviews), looks(sporty) and hybrid engine(Japanese combo of petrol and electric). Parts are reliable and doesn't need much maintenance.

Hybrid in the sense, I think electric is only used for starting..rest is petrol engine for running..
if you even invest in these first generation electric vehicles, it is not a bad idea, in my view.
Yes, unlike with four wheelers (electric cars), there presently is not much support (subsidy) from the government's, for two wheelers.
But even the shabby ones like Ola, offer a three year warranty and as the battery tech improves, the likes of Ola too are giving the replacement batteries for free.
The point is, petrol vehicles are evolved technologies and product differentiation has since moved to safety, ride comfort and other parameters.
Contrast that with most electric two-wheelers, seem to be no match for even my four year young nephew.
Be it tyres, suspension or balancing
be it handling on slushy roads or sudden braking if needed, on higher speeds.. electric scooterettes are more like toys.
Having said that, two three kilometers in traffic, service roads on an EV, I feel, is manageable.
If daily commute was 10-12 kilometres or more or if you had wifey, kids riding pillion.. then any day a more robust fossil fuel two-wheeler.
(Umm.. apologies for assuming. Maybe you already have kids and/or a lifepartner.)

For 4-5 km daily running it seems good.
Petrol for sure if you travel less.
If more than 10-20km daily then only go for electric. (General observation on the basis of car price difference between electric & petrol version)
Can't comment much on EV 2-wheelers but I have been driving a Nexon EV for 20 months and 25k KM.
Leave the eco friendly part which is debatable. I personally prefer EVs purely because of the ride quality it offer which is just incomparable to similar priced ICE peers in 4 wheeler segment. Super quiet cabin and crazy acceleration makes it a breeze to drive even in traffic.
Your usage seems way too low even for a second vehicle. Why not keep using your existing bike and why even opt for another 2 wheeler? The amount you spend maintaining and to afford another 2 wheeler would be lot higher than the petrol you need for your existing bike.
use your duke. there is no point in buying a second vehicle if you only drive. bike insurance, pollution etc will eat away your yearly saving on fuel. for 200- 300km per month hardly you will save on fuel be it normal petrol or ev (battery replacement high charges) 1 lakh in fd will net you 7-8k easily.

Bought activa 125 disc in Jan and its great. Did want to go for a jupiter with its many advantages but finally opted for the dependability of Honda . Ran my last activa for 113000 kms over 9 years without any engine work ever.
Usage jyada hai to ev.. warna petrol.. calc kar lo.. kitna running hai uspar kitna petrol dena padega..
sell Duke, buy Activa
You don't need another scooter for such a low use. Your existing even with the lower mileage is OK.
Still, if you want to purchase, then go for the Activa without any second thought.

Go for petrol scooty, EV is not mature enough and they have very high cost in replacing the batteries after few years of running.

based on your usage and since its in India, its safe to say not to go for EV atleast till 2030 as all are being rushed without proper testing of batteries and am expecting more battery blasts once May starts as temperatures going above 45C and moreover your usage pattern (even if it remains the same for next 2yrs) doesn't justify the need for EV as eventually at the end of the day (after 4-5yrs) you will end up spending more or less the same with petrol and EV bikes, have used YAMAHA Ray ZR petrol version which had the lengthiest seat among other bikes so check the current 2024 models based on your requirement like seat length/storage space/mileage etc

Idk why people here think in 5 years, you will spend double for repairs. Now Ola is offering 8 yrs of battery warranty. Most of my friends who have got a new two wheeler in the last year have preferred EVs. Ola S1 Pros and TVS iQube are the ones which they bought. Even I wanted to buy one last year, but deferred the purchase by a year since I didn't actually need it and my bike has only run 13k kms. Two wheelers are the one category that can be fully filled by EVs.
If your expected usage is going to be low then consider Activa 110cc or Jupiter 125cc. Else, if you are not overweight, mostly travel alone, no charging issues then consider ola, ather or iQube

EV is good if you can recoup the cost of battery replacement before the battery needs replacement. We had TVS XL for local commute and farm work and it drank pertrol like crazy. We used to spend 500 to 600 on petrol every week. We got a Komaki EV for 80k, and by the time it needed a battery replacement (2 years) it had almost saved up more in petrol thanits total cost. We gave the ev for exchange and got 30k off on new ev instead of battery change as it was beaten up in farm use. So if anyone has daily use of 30-40kms evs are really good
bro go for petrol. Tvs Jupiter or suzuki access both have good option as best in mileage.

You should ALWAYS go for the petrol vehicles and that too for the most popular models. I had bought an electric two-wheeler named Ampere Zeal Ex at 69400 after some discount+10000 for registration etc at Hyderabad from Flipkart when the FAME II subsidy was still a thing. Please find my horrible experience in the following paragraphs. And you should know, I am back to using my Activa 5th gen and extremely happy about it. And another thing, I feel it is ethical to reduce emissions as much as possible, while I might not be an environmentalist at the tree-hugger level, I am conscious and sensitive about the environmental issues.
1) the battery started degrading within one year of use (5 days/week*34 kms/day-rainy days-holidays), if I didn't charge the battery everyday the second morning, battery indicator will drop overnight 2) Taking out battery and charging at home is painful, the battery is heavy and it takes indefinitely long time to charge 3) The advertised range was 120 kms and the maximum I got since the first day is around 70 kms 4) The service center charged me 10k to replace the battery within 1 year although it was under warranty, they told me if I pay 10k I'd get a new battery else they will give me some used battery 5) During rain when I had to cross puddles, water would seep into the lower side of the battery compartment and it was visible, thankfully the wiring was on the upper side 6) Maximum adverised speed was 50km/hr, initially it will reach 60kms/hr at sports mode easily, and 35kms.hr on normal mode, within days that was reduced to 50 in sports and 30 in eco but whenever battery would go low, the speed will be 20 km/hr like a bicycle 7) If the vehicle had any problem, however minor, local mechanics were not trained to fix it 8) if the vehicle had any damage, however minor, no parts were ever available with the dealership,only place that could do any service to the vehicle, and you needed to leave the vehicle with them and wait for their call. No work was ever done in less than 2 weeks. They took more than a month to give me battery replacement (although I didn't have to leave the vehicle with them on that occasion) 9) The new battery costed around 35k and it was clearly stated that within 18 months I'd need a new battery without ever mentioning any recommended mileage 10) Finally, to add insult to the injury, the showroom I bought from closed down and there is still a showroom somewhere in old Hyderabad which is more than 50 kms away from my home where I cannot even possibly reach on that scooter.
Now, the second phase. I listed it on Olx at 60k as soon as the old battery was replaced, FAME II subsidy was gone by that time, and I received absolutely no interests, no one called, not a single soul, complete radio silence. I had posted great pictures of the scooter taken when it was new with lush green background in my society. The new electric 2 wheelers were starting at 80k+ at this point of time (May 2023), I reduced it to 55k and then 50k. At 50k, a month since my original posting, I received my first interest, an offer at 35k. I laughed off at the offer and kept on waiting. By June middle, I have reduced the price to 45k and I'd only receive offers at 31,500, the minimum offer the buyers are allowed to send (70% of my listed price). Then sometime in the last week of June, a student from JNTU offered 35k and sang long essays of dukhda (sufferings) when I asked for 40k. I asked him to come and take a look. He came and we finalized the price at 36k. So I got 36k for a one year old scooter that I spent at least 90k on. Keep away from electric two wheelers.

You can go for Ola S1 X. Recently launched at 69999 ex showroom with 2 KW battery pack. That is good enough for 80-90km of running. 8 years warranty on Battery will be added advantage and moreover you need not buy a vehicle for around 1 lakh. This will approx cost you 80000 on road. So you will save some money and will also get a EV.
