At quota Start waking up at 5 in the morning and drink water immediately. You can go back to sleep after 9 if you want, but those 4 hours in the morning will change the way you live! Knowing that you have a headstart on the day, you will want to plan out your day, make time tables. Somehow waking up early, makes you feel good about yourself and you wouldn't want to give up on that, once you start off. smile Also , the first thing to do when you wake up is plan out briefly what you need to get done that day, and the last thing you do before going to bed is check an record what you actually did. Write it down in this manner: 1.What did I get done today? 2.What did I do for my family today? 3. Did I exercise today? 4. Did I care for my friends today? 5. What am I grateful for today? 6. What are the three good things about today? 7. How can I make tomorrow better? 8. How much money did I spend today? . This does help a lot. I was once a heavy weight lazy 20 year old. Used to be good at academics while at school but somehow had lost all sorts of will power to study or keep myself healthy. But when I became morbidly obese, my parents started to worry and I started feeling lethargic. become Had lost all sense of self confidence too. But a few months ago, I decided I need to stop this. So I got my shit together, and all I did was start waking up at 4am everyday. It was difficult. But I started out by reading novels in the morning. I have always been an avid reader and this habit made me want to wake up just to get more reading done. Slowly I started out exercising after reading and slowly started studying too. Having a psychologist as a mother helped quite a bit. biggrin Started recording what I want to do and what I did each day. In the past 3 months, my GPA shot up, I lost 20 kilos and became a better basketball player. Just by changing this habit of constantly staying on the internet and wasting time, I became a whole new person, a person who I am proud to talk about. biggrin Don't get me wrong, I do need to catch up on my favorite shows and movies every weekend, but it doesn't seem like a waste of time anymore. Remember - When you do the things that you need to do, when you need to do them, the day will come when you can do the things you want, when you want to do them. Hope this helps. biggrin

I am a first year female undergrad in an engineering college.I recently installed whatsapp on my phone.
I realised it’s very distracting

I tried and removed WhatsApp from my mobile 2 years ago. During this time they added many new features to add to your distraction. Today I have WhatsApp installed but it doesn’t distract me anymore.

I prefer to meet a friend personally than punch fingers over a 5" glass screen that takes non-verbal aspect of communication away and replaces emotions with phony emoticons where a person types ten smileys even when they might be actually frowning. If meeting in person is not possible, I would still catch up over phone or skype. If someone sends an important message where conversation might go longer, I just call them back. Rather WhatsApp comes very handy when I leave a party at 1am and want to tell my friends that I’ve reached home. I ignore jokes or other useless forwarded messages, and mute of leave the groups which promote these.

My 5 Rules of Communication.
I am an ardent follower of these rules and promote these among my friends and contacts, who’ve found them helping them make the best out of their time, remove distractions and converse naturally.

1. Be in the Present: This is a timeless cliche. You will see how close your friends come when you’re living your time with them 100%. Whenever you’re engaged in any important activity – be it studying, or going out for dates, or socializing with your friends and family – just put your mobile away. No – not even reading the messages. If there’s something critically urgent, they would call. There’s nothing sadder than seeing a young couple in Starbucks busy with their phones.

2. Block your Time: Continuing the previous point, if you are studying, set a time before which you’re not touching the mobile again. Put it on silent, or turn it off. All my meetings, parties and other social plans are marked on my calendar and my phone turns itself silent for non priority notifications during that time.

3. Gossip, but to a Limit: Yeah Gossips are a part of human civilization. There’s a social need for us to know what’s going on, and share what we know. Make sure all this Gossip isn’t taking you away from your own world or making you change your thinking or perception.

4. Ignore Clutter: Again, building over past 3 points, anything that takes too much of your time, and isn’t really going to help you tomorrow is clutter. It can be a Sherawali Mata Mantra or another SantaBbanta joke, or just a friend telling that some other old friend has made a girlfriend and was seen last night at Hard Rock Cafe. Just throw in a smiley and be gone.

5. Respect Time. Usually the best indication of any message thread or conversation is that it doesn’t have a specific direction. Five minutes ago a friend was asking help for an assignment. Then she mentioned the long weekend coming up and her plans. And now she’s talking about what her roommate did last evening. You know it’s the time to go away. Meanwhile when you start a thread with an objective, stick to it and leave – and respect their time, as well as yours.
If you are in the college, don’t worry. Things would change when everyone would be busy their lives, won’t have free time to spend on phone during office hours, and be more mature to know the shallowness of such messages.
But by then it would be too late.
If you want to make the best out of your time on WhatsApp, here are a few quick-tips.
Mute Groups which aren’t really helpful
Limit the groups
Don’t respond if you are busy, or reply with a humble “busy; ttyl; bye”
Know whom to ignore and when to ignore
Turn it off time to time, you’ll really get the sense of how much they care, like Venkatesh Prabhu mentions.
Don’t talk with boys for long hours if you aren’t interested in them romantically.
And if you really want to try it, try removing WhatsApp for a month. You will love it.

Edit: Many of you are suggesting uninstalling whatsapp and crush the root of the problems, let me remind you many of us can’t just go away. Some people are subscribed to Whatsapp groups from their office teams, or shared professional interest clubs, or just that their mom reminds them to sleep on time over whatsapp. Now that’s a tricky situation.

What is the probability you getting selected ?

He: As you Know My Father is a Bank clerk (He was asked about this before) and I come from a middle class family, this job is more important to me than anything else now. But Despite that, you can see me answering All Your Questions without any stress in mind or without any fear of not getting this job. That is because I never thought that I won’t be able get this job, and even if I’m not selected today that is not going to effect me anyway, because I know my potential. So if you are not going to select me today, someone else definitely will.

Interviewer: So you are telling me that even if we select you and since your potential is high, as you said, if you get a job from another company offering a higher salary than us, you’ll fly over there, won’t you?

He (with a little smile): Well, money is the Most Evil thing in this world and it can make you do anything bad…So better you tie me with a Handsome Contract.

Interviewer (Laughing): Ohhh… you are setting us up. We were asking the Rate of Tomatoes to you and now you are trying to sell us the whole Refrigerator to store them.

He (confidently): Yeah… but look at the brighter side, that is what I can do for your company. I can get you Great Deals.

Interviewer: But This can be just bluffing. How can you be so sure that you are better than all those students standing outside? What distinguishes you from the others?

He (after taking little moment): Well, I have been answering you for the last 30 minutes with this confidence. If you find anyone from them who can answer you at my level, You can happily send me back without offering me a Job.

P.S. He was the only one who got hired by that company from his college.

[ ::: ♥The Ripple Effectng♥ ]

When you throw a stone into a pond, you’ll see a splash and hear a specific sound generated by the touch of stone with the water. You will notice circles rippling out from the point where stone hit the water. The stone touched the water only once however the number of waves was more than that. Did you also noticed that you did one simple act of throwing a stone but it resulted in several waves generation in all directions travelling to a large distance? This is what we call Ripple Effect.
If you closely observe your day to day life, you will notice that most of your acts are generating ripples in the society since a lot of people are getting affected either positively or negatively. If you are doing a positive act, the ripple effect is going to be positive. For example, if you help your friend or colleague, there is a most likely chance that he will help you and others when he finds you or others in any crisis. Hence I believe that positive acts result in positive ripples and negative effects generate negative ripples. Since this article is going to be read by all kind of intellectuals so I will summarize some basic example of positive and negative ripples.
1- When you share some inspiring article/video/story with your friends through email, Facebook, Google Plus, blog, website or any other online media, it will have a positive impact on hundreds of lives; Just to elaborate, if you have sent this article by email to 100 friends and only 20 of those share the same information with their colleagues/friends then this article will reach and inspire another 20*100 = 2000 people. This won’t stop here since these 2000 people are going to share that with another thousands of people so the article consequently touches millions!

2- When you work on some humanity service project (for example, giving some money for charity on monthly basis, opening an orphan house, installing water tanks in areas where water is not available to drink, visiting hospitals to help poor people etc) you are generating an unstoppable ripple effect. Hundreds of people will get inspired by you and start doing the same (more or less) acts.

3- When you want to show your driving ‘skills’ and ‘thrills’ by bad or speedy driving while your friends or family members are with you, you are encouraging them to do the same when they are given a chance. These friends will probably do the same and encourage more people for this bad act. Down the road in 6 month you might become the root cause of rash driving for 100+ people or more!

This paragraph is for Muslims only: If we closely think, the positive ripples can become a source of Sadqa Jaria which is extremely required after your death. If you have done something similar to Point-1 and Point-2, these deeds will keep sending you the Hasanat (currency of Aakhirah) in your after-death-bank-account. Always remember that dollars, pounds or euros wont help you on the day of Judgment, the thing which will help you is your acts of kindness and their usage by the society. If you inspire and convince more and more people for any good deed (by your words or by doing the task actually) you are basically ensuring your share in the Hasanat which they is going to do (while their share will not be impacted).

Conclusion: Positive Acts of kindness can bring magical results on earth. Everyone need to understand the concept that all of his/her acts are generating ripples in the society which are either improving or polluting the society.

Do you audit yourself on how much pollution or prosperity you are contributing to the society?

If you spend a few minutes every day doing some very simple exercises of concentration and self-control, it may be of great benefit to you. But so many people claim not to have the time! Well, since they don’t have the time to be in a state of peace, harmony and light, there will always be time for difficulties, disorders and darkness.

The one certain thing about life is that humans will be unhappy, sad, disappointed and discouraged. It is less certain that they will be happy, strong and peaceful. Why? Because they all enjoy saying, ‘I don’t have time’. This is the easy way to justify their laziness and inertia. No time to study or to pray or do exercises. And what keeps these people so busy that they don’t have time to devote to their psychological wellbeing and their spiritual elevation? Often nothing more than trivialities. This excuse of having no time might work with the blind and the ignorant, but never with heaven.

6 Ways That Successful Entrepreneurs Release Stress and Stay Healthy

In order to enjoy a long, healthy and productive career, you need to seek out ways to reduce entrepreneurial stress and to attend to your own needs.

BY SAMUEL EDWARDS

As an entrepreneur, it’s easy to get caught up in growing a business and being successful. In fact, many of us get so caught up in our work that we completely ignore the importance of maintaining balance and staying healthy. Sound familiar? If so, it’s time to return to the basics and create a plan for staying healthy—both mentally and physically.

The Importance of Stress Relief

An outsider looking in has no idea how much stress is involved with being an entrepreneur. For most, entrepreneurship just looks like someone working for themselves, doing what they love and calling their own shots. And, while some of this may be true to an extent, it doesn’t mean that entrepreneurship is carefree and easy. In fact, being an entrepreneur is associated with higher levels of stress and anxiety than being a typical 9-to-5 employee.

According to one study, 34 percent of entrepreneurs—four percentage points higher than standard employees—report being worried. Also, 45 percent of entrepreneurs—three percentage points more than standard employees—report being stressed. These are abnormally high incident rates for a group of individuals who are supposed to be “doing what they love.”

The issue is that many of these entrepreneurs don’t have outlets for their stress. Their minds are racing at 100 miles per hour, and they don’t ever take breaks or do things for themselves. If this sounds familiar, you may not be in control of your health and sanity.

Six Healthy Ways to Reduce Entrepreneurial Stress

In order to enjoy a long, healthy and productive career, you need to seek out ways to reduce entrepreneurial stress and to attend to your own needs. Here are some habits and activities that you may want to adopt:

Delegate Tasks to Employees
For starters, you must be willing to delegate tasks to employees and subordinates if you’re going to carve out some “me time” to release stress. The issue is that many business owners are afraid of delegation. Sound familiar? If so, it’s time to get over this fear. You can’t successfully run a business without relinquishing control of various aspects of the company.

Sit down, and think about which tasks you can realistically delegate and which must remain on your own docket. If you’ve done a good job of hiring capable employees, most tasks can be shifted off of your desk. However, keep in mind that there’s a difference between delegating and dumping. Make sure that you prepare and empower employees before handing off any responsibility.

According to Halelly Azulay of TalentGrow, the process of delegation involves five steps: analyzing time and tasks, choosing a delegate, briefing the delegate, monitoring and encouraging, and evaluating. Missing any of these steps could compromise the task.

Spend Time with Family
Stress isn’t always rooted in the business. Sometimes, an entrepreneur’s stress is grounded in the fact that he or she can’t spend as much time as he or she would like with family. This eventually compounds over time and becomes an even more pressing issue. The more a person works, the more he or she misses his or her family. And, the more he or she misses family, the more stress is compounded. This produces a dangerous cycle.

While it may sound strange—especially if you have young children running around—spending time with your family can be a big stress reliever. It allows you to channel your energy and to focus on something more meaningful than your business. This perspective can alter your entire outlook.

Find a Hands-On Hobby
There’s something about a hobby that channels stress and allows you to gather your thoughts. Anyone who has a hands-on hobby knows how wonderful it feels to get totally lost in your own thoughts, whether it’s tinkering on a car engine’s parts in a garage or with your homemade BBQ secret-sauce ingredients. The good news is that there’s a hands-on hobby for everyone. Here are three popular ones to consider:

Some people find restoring vehicles and their parts, and doing their own maintenance enjoyable. It could just be the regular maintenance on your everyday-use car such as oil, fluids and brakes; or you can take the hobby further by getting an old worn-out vehicle to keep in the garage that you can restore all the parts from bumper to bumper. Thanks to an influx of OEM and aftermarket parts on the Internet—as well as self-help car repair guides and online communities—anyone has access to the right car parts, tools and information that they need to start repairing and restoring automobiles.
One of the more rewarding hobbies is woodworking and furniture building. There’s just something about working with your hands and then getting to enjoy a finished product that’s satisfying. Once again, the Internet has played a major role in bringing woodworking to the masses. There’s a lot of helpful DIY information in circulation right now, so you could easily build yourself a set of kitchen table and chairs.
Have you ever thought about cooking as a hobby? Well, it certainly can be. Taking a few cooking lessons, practicing in your own kitchen and trying some new dishes definite as a hobby. It’ll also ensure that you eat better, which can further help lessen the symptoms of stress.
There are literally hundreds of different hands-on hobbies with which you can get involved. Give one of these a try, or brainstorm your own list. Whatever you do, make sure that you’re channeling your stress in a constructive way.

Exercise on a Daily Basis
One of the best things that you can do for your stress—and health in general—is to exercise on a daily basis. Don’t worry: there’s no need to carve out two hours from your daily routine. A simple 30-minute jog or quick weight lifting session can provide you with worthwhile benefits. The idea is to activate different muscle groups, bump up your heart rate, and sweat a little bit.

A highly underrated form of exercise is swimming. The nature of swimming is such that you can kick your heart into high gear without overstressing your joints or risking injury. Most large gyms offer pool memberships, and you can quickly shower afterwards before heading back to the office.

Do Something Competitive
There’s something about competition that we all find intrinsically gratifying. Competitive activities engage us on a deep level and provide an excellent source of stress relief. If you’re not involved in something competitive, you might be missing out on these opportunities.

Competition could range from playing poker with your friends to getting involved with rally car or dirt bike racing. Or, you could even dust off the old cleats and join an amateur soccer league. Other options include entering music competitions or playing competitive chess. The options are endless.

Spend Time Unplugged
Finally, you can relieve stress by unplugging. By silencing your smartphone, turning off your computer screen, and lowering the volume on the radio, you can enjoy a few minutes of silence. This solitude—especially when it comes in the middle of a hectic workday—can quickly recharge and rejuvenate your body.

On a related note, spending a few minutes reflecting in silence each morning is a wonderful way to gather your thoughts and prepare for the day ahead. If you’ve never done it, give it a try.

Putting it All Together

As you can see, releasing stress and maintaining sanity looks different for everyone. Your idea of burning off steam may look like taking a five-mile jog by the river, while another person might prefer to be nose deep in a transmission while covered in grease. We’re all different in that sense, but one thing’s clear: every entrepreneur needs an outlet for stress relief. Keep these tips in mind, and develop some responsible habits in your own life.

When you occasionally have a really bad day, and you just need to take it out on someone, don’t take it out on someone you know, take it out on someone you don’t know, but you know deserves it.

I was sitting at my desk when I remembered a phone call I’d forgotten to make.

I found the number and dialed it.

A man answered, saying ‘Hello.’

I politely said, ‘This is Chris. Could I please speak with Robyn Carter?’

Suddenly a manic voice yelled out in my ear ‘Get the right f***ing number!’ and the phone was slammed down on me.

I couldn’t believe that anyone could be so rude.

When I tracked down Robyn’s correct number to call her, I found that I had accidentally transposed the last two digits.

After hanging up with her, I decided to call the ‘wrong’ number again.

When the same guy answered the phone, I yelled ’You’re an asshole!’ and hung up.

I wrote his number down with the word ‘asshole’ next to it, and put it in my desk drawer.

Every couple of weeks, when I was paying bills or had a really bad day, I’d call him up and yell, ’You’re an asshole!’

It always cheered me up.

When Caller ID was introduced, I thought my therapeutic ‘asshole’ calling would have to stop. So, I called his number and said, ‘Hi, this is John Smith from the telephone company. I’m calling to see if you’re familiar with our Caller ID Program?’

He yelled ‘NO!’ and slammed down the phone.

I quickly called him back and said, ’That’s because you’re an asshole!’ and hung up.

One day I was at the store, getting ready to pull into a parking Spot.

Some guy in a black BMW cut me off and pulled into the spot I had patiently waited for.

I hit the horn and yelled that I’d been waiting for that spot, but the idiot ignored me.

I noticed a ‘For Sale ’ sign in his back window, so I wrote down his number.
A couple of days later, right after calling the first asshole (I had is number on speed dial,) I thought that I’d better call the BMW asshole, too.

I said, ‘Is this the man with the black BMW for sale?’

He said, ‘Yes, it is.’

I asked, ‘Can you tell me where I can see it?’

He said, ‘Yes, I live at ….34 Oaktree Blvd…., in ….Fairfax….. It’s a yellow ranch, and the car’s parked right out in front.’

I asked, ’What’s your name?’

He said, ‘My name is Don Hansen,’

I asked, ’When’s a good time to catch you, Don?’

He said, ’I’m home every evening after five.’

I said, ‘Listen, Don, can I tell you something?’

He said, ‘Yes?’

I said, ‘Don, you’re an asshole!’

Then I hung up, and added his number to my speed dial, too.

Now, when I had a problem, I had two assholes to call.

Then I came up with an idea.

I called asshole #1.

He said, ‘Hello.’

I said, ’You’re an asshole!’ (But I didn’t hang up.)

He asked, ‘Are you still there?’

I said, ‘Yeah!’

He screamed, ‘Stop calling me,’

I said, ‘Make me,’

He asked, ‘Who are you?’

I said, ‘My name is Don Hansen.’

He said, ‘Yeah? Where do you live?’

I said, ‘Asshole, I live at ….34 Oaktree Blvd…., in ….Fairfax…., a yellow ranch,
I have a black Beamer parked in front.’

He said, ’I’m coming over right now, Don. And you had better start saying your prayers.’

I said, ‘Yeah, like I’m really scared, asshole,’ and hung up.

Then I called Asshole #2.

He said, ‘Hello?’

I said, ‘Hello, asshole,’

He yelled, ‘If I ever find out who you are…’

I said, ’You’ll what?’

He exclaimed, ’I’ll kick your ass,’

I answered, ‘Well, asshole, here’s your chance. I’m coming over right now..’

Then I hung up and immediately called the police, saying that I lived at 34 Oaktree Blvd, in Fairfax, and that I was on my way over there to kill my gay lover.

Then I called Channel 9 News about the gang war going down in Oaktree Blvd in Fairfax.

I quickly got into my car and headed over to Fairfax.

I got there just in time to watch two assholes beating the crap out of each other in front of six cop cars, an overhead news helicopter and surrounded by a news crew..

NOW I feel much better.
