As per the statement by Indian Oil, the Fastag users of ICICI Bank will have to follow a process if they want to make the fuel payment through their Fastag account. The steps that they have to follow in this process are mentioned below:
- First of all the ICICI Bank Fastag users will have to inform the employee or attendant at a particular Fuel station of Indian oil that they want to make the fuel payment through their Fastag account.
- When you inform the attendant at the petrol pump, then he will scan the Fastag pasted on your vehicle.
- You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number, once he scans your Fastag.
- You will have to tell this OTP to the attendant or have to insert it into the POS machine by yourself.
- After entering this OTP, your transaction for refueling in your vehicle will be completed and the money will be deducted from your Fastag account.
- You will be confirmed the successful transaction and fuel payment through an SMS that will be sent on your mobile.
- Open ‘HP PAY’ app
- Scan the Qr code provided by the operator
- Choose ‘Product’ and select ‘submit’
- Enter the ‘amount’ and select ‘PAY Now’ through FASTag
- Enter the transaction OTP and confirm for a successful payment

This is why I like ICICI very much. They are very innovative like they colabrated with Amazon and launched Amazon Pay ICICI Co Branded CC which changed the CC entire market forever.
I’m not sure if people hide under some log to not to follow news updates. It’s been in place from a few months. I have fastag from IDFC, and they have this fuel payment option from almost an year. I’m yet to experiment though.
Also a mall near by my location has an option to charge parking fee via fastag.

But have been seeing, that nowadays parking, Fuel payments can also be done using Fastag.
So which Co. is the best today ?
Paytm Fastag - you can transfer paytm fastag balance to bank but monthly 5k or 10k limit (recharge through other 3rd party apps).
if recharge through Park+ app then daily 1k*2 times limit, monthly 60k limit.
ICICI Fastag - Fuel purchase also available, Simpl app currently offer 20% upto 200 cb on ICICI fastag. Check t&c before recharge.
