IRDA was once called out, for trying to promote one type of products over another.
As a 'regulator' it was breaching the trust by telling the consumers to go in for XYZ type of products (over others).
IMA is not a regulator. It is in cahoots with advertisers.
Only someone unaware or foolish would take their word for it. (Like when they say in Colgate or other advertisements, that our product has been 'approved' by IMA or that IMA agrees that our product takes out 99% microbes.)
