Download "IOB Mobile" app and apply for RuPay Platinum debit card.
Old and New users -
if you have Indian Overseas Bank account, they also have RuPay Platinum card for Rs.150+GST (₹177). Since April 2022, IOB's mobile app "IOB Mobile" lets you directly request debit card of your choice like BOB World lets you do. It arrives at branch (mine arrived in just few days/15 days or so), has to be activated by branch staff or via internet banking but you can activate it at ATM also. RuPay Platinum Amazon offer working fine. It is also a vertical debit card like Karnataka Bank and is compatible with Discover and Diners Club International.
MAB Require - ₹1000 I think for normal savings account. If you have IOB SB Silver II account (QAB ₹5000), debit card issuance is free.
Normal saving account also issue RuPay Platinum debit card, Cards aren't limited by account type.

Offer valid on amazon kyc wallet users, first complete your kyc on amazon wallet.
If add money page “Amazonpay balance” showing means kyc wallet and non-kyc wallet showing “Add gifts & credits to your amazon pay balance” -

Like all other banks, "due to steep increase in the cost of Semi-Conductor Chips and other Cost of Raw Materials, collateral", IOB has revised debit card charges. RuPay Platinum is now ₹250 + GST (₹295 with 18% GST): https://www.iob.in/Service-Charges-for-Debi...rd

Still better than 354 sbi & kbl

Yep, SBI, BOB, Union Bank, KBL, Central Bank and IDFC all ₹354 AMC now. 4 months of RuPay offer gone in recovering DC cost only 😞 At least with BOB we can have 2 debit cards for the same account (1 virtual free) and Union Bank DC charges waived off if doing 40 POS/E-comm transactions in previous year. But with SBI JCB dead, it's a loss and KBL, Central Bank have too high for just 1 DC.

Update : if you had taken ANY iob debit card earlier (irrespective whether its active/blocked /expired) charges for applying new rupay card is 413rs(charged as 350+gst under replacement charges). My friend applied for this card as his earlier visa classic got expired, 413rs deducted.
Yes replacement charges, as in canceling and requesting another card are even higher. I had not taken any IOB card earlier (my account is from when I was a minor since my mom is ex-staff). I did not have Visa card either, so just ₹177 for me when the charges were lower for RuPay Platinum. Although I guess next year they will cut ₹295 as AMC.

Yes, 295 amc minimum, very high chances of further increase in charges.

Tried talking iob helpline but the guy was clueless. Today ,Central Bank of India RuPay Platinum Debit Card AMC Charged me a whopping 354Rs/- within just 6 months will talk to branch manager about reversal and such things.... @some1anywhere964 @IndianDimer
hi sir.iob debit card applyed
Note that even if you Block/Suspend your debit card from IOB netbanking and/or app, this bank takes next year's annual charges from your account. I had blocked the debit card in April 2023 but they took charges today of ₹295. I have filed a grievance but I am sure they will give some excuse like it was only a temporary block, not a permanent block. Will have to ask RBI ombudsman to take action against the bank after 30 days.
Obnoxious bank alert: IOB wants written signed application for simply hotlisting a debit card. 🙄🤦🏻♂️😄 When you block/suspend the debit card from their app or netbanking, it's only a "soft block" it seems, not permanent hotlisting. You can't hotlist the card yourself, only the bank can. 🙄🤦🏻♂️
Got the charges reversed after threatening to complain to RBI and IOB MD/CEO.
Can you believe this bank? First they issued me wrong debit card in 2022 (Visa Classic) despite written application with details to give RuPay Platinum. Then they took replacement charges when I requested the correct DC once the app had added that feature. Only after several visits and threatening to complain to RBI, they acknowledged that it was their mistake that they had issued the wrong DC and reversed the charges.
And now for the next year, after blocking the debit card, they treat it as a soft block (temporary block) but don't inform customer in any way that despite card showing inactive/blocked, it is still active and so they take charges again. The only way to do permanent block (hotlist/surrender) is via written request/email to branch along with signed paper application scanned or in person. All this to hotlist a debit card! 🙄
