Have you noticed recently that the ads on the internet are growing in length day by day...sometimes it feels like I am a shareholder of the company and they are giving me a presentation of their company.

Bro, how long did you thought free content will be available, these sites needs to make money. They can do so only by ads or subscription. Buy youtube premium subscription from Subspace app in sharing at 35-36 Rs/month and there will be no ads.

Ads wouldn't have been an issue if they kept it to a limit. Popups, banners, it's like 50% of a website is an ad & using it without an adblocker isn't an option anymore.

Those who think they're a messiah for paying for subscriptions don't seem to understand how companies are still screwing them over.

Paying for the highest tier 4 screen 4K Netflix Plan? Show me how to use that in 4 different screen spread at different cities in India? You can't because corporate greed only knows how to screw you over.

The old saying was "If you're not paying, you're the product" but now the reality is, "Even if you're paying, you're still the product." which can only be countered with an adblocker.

In future they will find a way to stop Adblockers. Or they may simply stop web version itself.

Correct. This is also why I lost interest in watching cricket after growing up watching Test matches for the full 5 days. IPL is bastardization of cricket and the ads are nauseating. We consume too much online content nowadays. I reverted to a 20th century lifestyle when there were no cellphones and internet. I watch my movies in the theatres (limited ads have always been there before the movie and during the interval), read my news from a paper, solve the crossword in it (there is a Sudoku also but I don't have the time) and read fiction and non-fiction books bought from my regular seller at Fountain (Mumbai CST area) who effectively charges Rs 50-200 depending on the condition/popularity of the book. Yes, I still have a cellphone and the only social media app on it is WhatsApp for direct communication with friends and family. I have never ever bothered with a WhatsApp status also. I also use the cellphone for bill payments, online orders. DD is in fact the closest I come to social media 😜
