If you have a 10yr plus window, mutual fund average returns can touch that rate, provided you choose a capable one...

For someone in the 30% tax group, NPS actually gives more than that after adjusting the tax benefit. But its a very very long term investment.

I wish they have option to withdraw full money from T1 account anytime.
Plus increase that 50k tax deducation for Section 80CCD(1B) to atleast 1 Lakh.
Then it's good short/medium term investment choice; which is majority of youth is interested in.
People will throw there savings into NPS; just allow primary acct withdrawal anytime.
Swap T1 to T2, make investment account primary and pension account secondary grinning

You may be able to get those returns in active equity mutual fund schemes by timing your entry and then hoping for the best run up.

If you get caught up in a bad /volatile/bear market phase then you need to wait another 2 years or so to pull out your investment.

Speaking from experience.

Other 50% in nifty next 50.

Nothing will give you those returns with minimum risk.

You may check corporate bonds with stable rating (moderate risk)...

Coupon rate for a few running are around 11 percent for 5 year period.

If you're looking for such high returns, you can go ahead and look for stocks but a major problem with stocks is that they are highly volatile, this means that stocks fluctuate at a very high pace and one can never rightly estimate the results of it.

But Mobikwik Xtra is a P2P platform that offers upto 12% returns annually and can be preferred over stocks if you're looking for some stable options having high returns.
