Example:
The train originates from station A on 5th May at 6 AM
My travel date is on 6th May from Station B at 1.15 AM to station C
So when should I book my tatkal ticket? One day before my actual departing station on 5th May or one day before the train originating station on 4th May?
Please clarify this. Thanks for your answers!

Originating station .As train starts from station A on 3 April but reaches your station on 4 April. Than you have to book tickets on 2 April.
You have to book on 4th may.
Tatkal booking opens one day before the date of journey. For example, if date of journey is planned on 5th April then tatkal booking should be done on 4th April.
AC class tatkal booking timing: 10 AM on IRCTC and 10:15 AM on other platforms
Sleeper class tatkal booking timing: 11 AM on IRCTC
On May 4th, you have to book tickets.
Tatkal tickets for selected trains can be booked one day in advance, excluding the day of journey from the train's originating station.
For AC classes (2A/3A/CC/EC/3E), tatkal tickets can be booked starting at 10 AM, and for non-AC classes (SL/FC/2S), tatkal tickets can be booked starting at 11 AM. The same timings apply for online and offline bookings.
Tatkal window opens 1 day before the train starts from originating station.
It doesn't depend on the boarding station.. .

Off topic..but tatkal ticket system is unable to bear load...in less than 1 minute, all 80+ tickets get booked and what irctc shows on my screen?? LOADING🤡

Bro Tatkal booking opens @ 10 am for AC classes and @ 11 am for non-AC classes one day in advance of the actual date of journey.
In your case, booking will start on 4th May @ 10 am for AC & @ 11 am for non-AC.

On 04May u have to book Tatkal for Station B journey 06May.
Always Tatkal quota will be open on the prev date of the Train originating station.
Unless someone is blueblooded royalty or ignorant, those having lived in India for long enough know what happens to tatkal tickets within minutes of the time window opening.
This is like asking about a (hypothetical) train that begins its journey in or around Bombay and terminates in or around Anjaw, in Arunachal.
If one has to board from somewhere in Roing and want to book a ticket between Roing and Anjaw... you expect the tatkal (time) window to be still available when (hypothetically) more than 48 hours have passed since it left Bombay and is now in Arunachal.. about to reach Roing?
What if we become larger than or equal to Russia, with similar terrain and slow trains taking maybe 4-5 days to complete their scheduled journey.
You are expecting for a PAX whose boarding station comes on day 4.. to still have tatkal booking facility?🧐🤯
I didn't like arrogant answer.This community is to help others,not to comment on others knowledge. Actually it's a genuine question. Many trains starting from originating late night have same problem. First time ,I missed to book tickets in same case ,later got to know that we have to book previous day from start time of origin place.
