Overpriced IMO. Might want to wait 6 months to check for hardware issues if any. I bought Redmi Note 10 Pro well over a year after launch and yet couldn't escape software and/or hardware defects. Custom ROMs for it suffer from a variety of bugs which makes them unsuitable for use by someone who isn't particularly tech-savvy like my father and so it's my only Xiaomi device which hasn't been rid of MIUI within a short while of purchase. Haven't even updated the original MIUI version. I don't think RN12 series will suffer a similar fate but you never know.

I want to Exchange my Redmi Note 5 Pro for Redmi Note 12 Pro.
I am getting 7650 Rs off as it is giving additional 4000 rs Exchange offer on 1st day Sale.
So I will be getting the 6GB/128GB varient of Redmi Note 12 Pro around 17500.
I want my phone for Normal Usage, No Gaming, Decent Camera, YouTube, Facebook and surfing and budget is around 15-20k.
Should I wait for some other phone. If I should wait which upcoming phone will be good in this price range with better specifications Or is it good to buy Redmi Note 12 Pro 6/128 in 17500.
Kindly Help.

Any other option within same price range with good camera and processor. Any suggestions. I can wait for 1 month approx.
Flipkart and Mobile Exchange are Deadly combination.
In most of the cases your exchange will be rejected / exchange price will be reduced at the time of delivery.
Be cautious.
If we get extra exchange value
Bank offer not applied right?

no
Rakhi_srikak wrote:That's is what i am saying, you will either get extra exchange or Bank discount.
Bro in the banner they mention 3000 icici discount or 3k exchange value mention
NOT both.
amitblasters wrote:check againBut for exchanging MI or Xiaomi Phone they are giving 1k extra discount. So for MI phones it will be 4k discount on exchange. For all other phones it will be 3k extra discount.

You don't need a 20k phone for surfing the net lmao even a sub 10k phone like redmi 10 can do that with ease if you really need to spend more then Infinix Hot 20 5G looks like the best bang for buck phone I've ever seen.

But I want to have good Camera, Decent Screen, Good Video, no Hanging Problem.

You can see it's showing 4000 extra Off on MI phones. So for Redmi Note 5 Pro it is showing 7650 rs off. That's why I am asking should I consider that.
It seems the Infinix Hot 20 5G only has a 4GB RAM variant available which is not at all sufficient for a semi-decent browsing experience considering as early as 2 years back even 6GB had started feeling inadequate at times unless one uses some very light browsers like Soul or FF Focus instead of mainstream desktop grade browsers like Chrome, Kiwi (includes support for Chrome extensions to really turbo charge the browsing experience in mobiles but obviously RAM usage is further increased) , Vivaldi, FF etc. That too running stock Android. Also the Dimensity 810 is only a little bit faster than the SD732G which couldn't maintain a near constant 60fps while scrolling in several webpages hampering the smoothness. In particularly image-heavy websites like the homepage of Espncricinfo the GPU was close to overloaded and couldn't render the images fast enough. Some folks might notice this issue more than others...
Not worth the price.
Ideal price should have been 19,999/-
From the Xiaomi stable Poco F4 is a far better choice. SD870 runs circles around most mid-range SoCs. Plus flagship Qualcomm SoCs invariably enjoy way, way better custom ROM development than 6xx/7xx SoCs nevermind MTK ones thereby ensuring updates long after the end of official support. In light of the hardware issues plaguing Poco/Redmi devices in the last few years I wouldn't have suggested it but for the 2 years warranty. Also unlike smaller Chinese brands Xiaomi usually stocks spares for several years, commonly upto 6 years in case of popular models. Price is a bit higher than your specified budget though.
Nothing Phone 1 is a good choice as well. Stock Android is great even though a bit bland. SD778G is a pretty performant SoC. But I haven't kept track of whether the issues that had been reported soon after launch were resolved or not. Again a bit over budget.

but Now less options are available in 20k segment.
I too think that Redmi Note 12 Pro is overpriced. But I was considering it because my MI note 5 Pro will be exchanged for 7650. So for me actual price of Redmi Note 12 Pro comes to 20999 for 6/128 Gb Variant.
This is just marketing gimmick from MI by giving additional exchange of 4K. But I want to know whether 20999 is also overpriced?
or should I spend 10k more and go for Nothing Phone 1, Onplus or Iqoo Neo 7.

Even at 21k I think the RN12P is overpriced if you compare with the Mi 11 NE Lite 5G whatever that came with the SD778G at roughly the same price. I accord CPU performance by far the highest priority followed by, in no particular order, display, software, installed RAM and battery life.
I would never suggest completely locked down devices like those from iQoo. Also hard to form any opinion about longterm availability of spares. Nothing is very new of course. I have not given much thought to Oneplus mid-rangers.
If you can increase your budget to accommodate more devices I think that would be the better option.

So Kindly suggest more devices if I could increase my budget to 30k max. You may suggest upcoming phones as well. I will wait for sometime then for a better phone. As I don't frequently change my phone. I use my phone atleast 2-3 years.

4gb ram is more than enough for a decent usage you just have to tweak it like remove all bloat ,keep a check on permissions and usage permissions, use systemwide adblock ,not overloading storage etc doing this reduces the load by unimaginable amounts.

It's possible that after SD8 G2 devices are released in India in the next few months, SD8+ G1 devices, the few that exist, could drop down to the 30-35k range. Poco is rumoured to release a Redmi rebrand with the latter SoC in the coming months. Pixel 7a seems far away. SD888 and SD8 G1 in particular wasted 2 generations of devices and hence the pickings are slim. It's better to buy a flagship grade device when on sale than mid-rangers which usually have to make to with too many compromises. I have stopped tracking upcoming device releases so I can't suggest anything.

As Republic Day sale has been announced by Flipkart and Amazon a lot of good Phones may be available at good price than Redmi 12 Pro. So I am considering Nothing Phone 1, Oneplus 2T 5g and IQOO 9 SE which may be available around 26-27k by applying offer. So Kindly suggest which phone is more value for Money and good in long run.

I can't say anything about longevity but Nothing Phone 1 will be my choice even though it's a new company and despite the issues reported at launch. Stock Android and semi-decent custom ROM development are amongst it's biggest strengths.
if any one was live today at 12 noon redmi gave Fcode with 2 free gifts on purchase of any model any variant of the new note 12 series
Redmi Smart Band Pro SportsWatch Black and
Redmi Buds 3 Lite Black
plus extra exchange of 2600 on redmi phone
In budget of 30k, Iqoo neo 6 is the best device.
It has all the major things covered, good display, form factor, mind blowing camera (sometimes better than iphone13), speakers and day to day use.
I have nord 2, used iqoo neo 6 for couple of days of a relative and clearly one plus do not have the quality which iqoo have.
Have many iphone 13 in extended family and camera of those is just over hyped.

I'd rather suggest Moro Edge 30, Realme 10 Pro+ or the Nothing Phone 1 in this range.
Cheers!

Then Shouldn't I wait for Iqoo Neo 7 which will launch in next 15-20 days I think.
Personally, I don't prefer Redmi phones because of its poor software & hardware experience..
It might give top of the line specifications, but not a quality user experience that one might expect.
The device starts misbehaving just a year after buying it.
Buy during big billion days

Overpriced! Don't buy
