Recharge for 1 month. Use for 20 days and then port it
Is Vi barring incoming calls?

My recharge ended on 20 November. I was ok to not recharge for sometime. I observed since yesterday that is from 8th day of recharge ended that Vi is barring incoming calls too.
When dialled it says the number is out of coverage area! Sometimes it says incoming is barred on this number.
198 has stopped giving option to talk to customer care too. Is this allowed to bar even incoming calls? I guess, Vi’s desperation has increased. On Jio the incoming calls are never barred. One of my family member is using Jio even as secondary SIM and haven’t recharged for many months.
Is there any way out of this situation?

After 7 days from end of outgoing validity incoming also stops except jio

I am having a sim from other state where I used to stayy earlier.
I did recharge of like 10₹ – 20₹ in 2-3 months.
It keeps incoming call/sms active though they keep sending those crap sms for blocking calls ànd all.

In one of my nos. IC after Service Validity expiry continued to work…until the last month.

Vi & Airtel bars both incoming & out coming post expire of validity plan. Better switch to Jio or BSNL if you need incoming calls.

As far as Punjab circle is concered, they don’t stop incoming SMS so I am happy with that. Also once/twice a month they give 1GB/day free for 7 days and allow sms to 1900 in same period.

Even jio will stop in coming days as it has started cleanup drive and in last month reported 1.9 crore users left jio. These numbers actually are they removed inactive uncharged mobile numbers.

It’s user specific….I have two unrecharged vi sims….In one..only incoming call and sms is working…in other…no incoming or outgoing is working …

Airtel/voda bar incoming calls 7 days from expiry of recharge. Its in terms and conditions
Jio also have same provisions but they don’t bar intentionally

For me incoming calls were working fine from past few months even plan expired way back.
But 2-3 days back they barred the incoming call service but still incoming messages are working.

Did you recharge with that 49 ? Maybe that will start incoming.
I read somewhere that when the validity ends if the number has some balance (maybe Rs. 20 or 30, I dont remember well) they cannot stop incoming calls as per TRAI rules.
I am not sure whether it will work if you add the balance after the validity ends. Someone should try keeping some balance before the validity ends.

yes bro I did that 49 recharge it gives 10 days outgoing validity hence have to wait for that time to see if incoming will work after that.
Trai rules are for name sake nobody follows them.
Sadly ussd codes for main balance recharge are not working now in vi else would have accumulated balance to recharge in future.
Still will do a 10-20 top-up to see if it makes any difference.

At that time the recharge was 49. That someone could stretch for 71 days. The logic is in that article. However, now there is no 49 denomination. I see that there is a 50 denomination with gives Rs. 39.37 talk time.
Since you could recharge with 49, how much talk time did you get ? If it is above 35 then just observe if you get that deduction or not. Update us based on your experience.

In my circle (Delhi) ₹49 recharge is available it gives Rs 38 Limited validity talktime, Calls at 2.5p/sec, 100 MB Data. No Outgoing SMS. 10 Day Service Validity
