You can insert your sim into any other 5g supported phone, enable 5g and then switch the sim back to s20fe, jio 5g should work then. Read on a telegram group

There is lot of discussion around and many are eagerly waiting for samsung to release the 5G standalone (SA) software update (FOTA). While people are able to access Airtel 5G on their S20 FE 5G but they are not able to use Jio 5G. Some people have devised workarounds also.Â
The news is that Samsung has officially clarified when they are going to release FOTA for SA 5G. Below is the clarification:-
"We have understood the concern that you want to use JIO 5g network on your device. I would like to inform you that Samsung would start rolling out the 5G devices SA FOTA. I would request you kindly wait until January end, in January you will get the SA FOTA(JIO). As of now, you can use the 5GAirtel network on your device."

I don't think enablement is required. it should start to work as it is if your phone is 5g . -Samsung s22+ user from Chandigarh

I think S20fe is made differently with snapdragon 865 processor, it has some 5g modem seperate unlike newer processors where its integrated.

today Jio app starts recognising the phone correctly as 5G. The OTP mode verification through jio website also confirms the phone is true 5GÂ ready. You get the following message :-
Congratulations! Your device is Jio True 5G ready
Ensure that you have updated the latest software on your Samsung Galaxy S20 FE device. If not, go to 'Settings', select 'About Device', and tap on 'Software Update'.

I have jio in s22 ultra with no 5g running, my wife have same phone and she have 5g welcome offer running
My Airtel sim shows 5g when I travelled to another city so handset is not an issue but as u suggested, 5g might be activated somehowÂ

SA OTA update is still pending. I contacted samsung customer care 3 - 4 days back and they replied in end of Jan. the update is expected.

now several people are getting 5G on s20 fe 5g if your phone is fully updated.. jio app shows phone is 5g .. jio is regularly sending messages that i have welcome offer and have true 5g and i should update my phone software.. i have'nt done dec. update... but i am waiting for sa fota!! some people have opined without proper SA FOTA the phone is able to use only one band n78 and not n28.. even samsung has not confirmed officially that the phone can receive 5g as of now
