Try adding a new APN with Name “Internet” and APN “Jionet”. Other parameters are almost same as shown in my mobile.
Note: I’m actually a noob in these cases. Just trying to help you based on the info I got here. Don’t blame me if it doesn’t work.

Happens when you insert sim in Incompatible handset
Change APN to “jionet” (all small letters)
this will do

I dont think so
I am using Jio in Oneplus X which is not VOLTE as i hard bricked redmi note 3
and even on Oneplus X, it shows “jionet”. May be letter casing doesnt matter
Previously whenver i had network issues, Jio care always used to use lower casing for jionet

Thanks, added new APN setting.
But hotspot is not working when using this APN. But it works when using the ‘www’ one.
Any reason??

@avgn Issue resolved?
Not exactly.
Now I have 2 APNs: www and jionet.
Dont know whats the difference. Hotspot does not work when on ‘jionet’ but works with ‘www’. When i switch to ‘jionet’, normal internet on phone works fine, but not hotspot.
Then i reboot device in attempt to fix it, default hotspot changes to ‘www’.

delete “www” apn
make jionet as default
(1) APN value is case sensitive.
(2) MCC for Jio is 405 throughout India. But the MNC value is obviously different for each circle.
(3) If the APN is automatically changing for you, it means you are not getting connected to a Jio tower, but rather to one of the partner networks (Loop in this case).
(4) As I mentioned to you earlier, download the latest NetVelocity app from the Jio appstore and find out which network and band you are actually connecting to.
(5) If you are connecting to Loop (because a Jio tower/signal is not available in your area) then changing the APN settings won’t do you any good.
(6) APN settings are usually automatically created/sent from the tower to your phone.

Edit: Which handset are you using? A few days back someone reported that an update on iPhones disabled them to use Hotspot. This could be your issue.

That iPhone hotspot was disabled for a min when the network carrier update was updated on iPhone. It’s working fine now.
@avgn use the net velocity app and post the band details here for better assistance. The apn settings posted above are correct. Best bet would be to edit the www apn and change the name to jionet. Save it, restart mobile and check if both mobile internet and hotspot works.

Hard bricked RN3? Still with you or with service center? I can help you recover your phone. Dm me if it’s still with you.

If he is using an unsupported device, then also he will get connected to Loop
On some custom roms for redmi note 3 , APN is automatically detected as Loop. Had to replace it with jionet to get it working
For some non-volte based devices also we may have to set the APN manually (Tried on Yu Yureka)

Will use and check for few more days

Tagging is a pain on mobile
I have used 500 mb approx out of initial 2gb , i have heard people saying that the speed decreases after initial 2gb , is it true ?

What do you guys think , is it true ?

Untrue for the initially allotted 2GB before JPO kicks in. But I did observe increased per thread throttling after the first x GB of consumption every day. Not sure and never bothered to quantify as I use IDM which takes care of the per thread throttling for downloads. Just an observation. CC @getready
@avgn Guess Jionet will be back once you restart the mobile.
