You're number is disconnected from Jio?

Jio prepaid disconnection due to no recharge
But before the disconnection many times i got reminder calls from jio customer care for recharge failing which it may get disconnected.
Do they still make such reminder calls to alternate number ?
Because i have another jio sim which was last recharged in october 2022 and i dont want to loose this number
Keep that number connected to the network.
Make a call to that number every 90 days.
Top up with ₹50
This should be sufficient.
Just to be on a safer side, do a minimum recharge every 4-5 months

Rs 119 and it's a worthy pack offering 1GB/day for 14 days. Plus 100SMS IIRC. Can recharge via main balance accumulated from various Freecharge/Amazon etc. offers. I have stopped accumulating balance in my Vi nos. as well. Of course in case of Airtel it's of no use.

Don't live in past.
Now time changed and with duopoly telecom operators don't have any benefit in keeping inactive non profitable accounts in there book. Very soon operators start to clean there books. If number is important then keep it active by recharge Or let it go. Free launches going to end soon.

Edit:
@siddudeagarwal it's visible in Amazon

Those calls reminding to recharge or disconnection from Jio are fake i keep getting them every two days yet nothing happens.I just recharge once every three months.

Why should they disconnect if we topup every few months, there is no rule which says outgoing pack must be activated for Sim to be active

From a company's POV this argument is correct. But sad part is that Trai which is supposed to care about the users, has been a complete failure.
Its okay to impose limit on number of connections per person / household but making recharge mandatory is not fair. Indirectly, that's like making incoming chargeable (which has been free since time immemorial)

Fixed line which was there before mobile invention was had fixed monthly charge. All developed countries already have fixed monthly charge it n mobile telephony . Why do you think india will remain exception? Why you think incoming should be free as it also need spectrum usage?

Its interesting that we compare ourselves with developed countries
Apart from that discussion, though i am not an engineer, but would assume that incoming does require lesser resources on the part of the company. So maybe they can introduce cheaper plans for incoming only validity. Its not right to make "unlimited" mandatory for everyone when a very few section of the consumers actually need it. Metered connections are much better for others.

Yes. I think incoming only plans will surely come in mobile phones sooner than later. Already all fixed phone lines have these schemes.
kukdookoo wrote:It was an old rules pdf so not sure if same rules still applicable. In any case, I remember that if main bal is there then telocs have the option to deduct "min maintenance charge" every 3 months I think to keep the no. active as long as main bal remains.
Paji if main balance is there then? @guest_999 paji aapne 1 pdf daali thi na kisi post me is regarding.
To avoid disconnection keep your SIM in phone, receive calls time to time at least once in every 3 months. My jio sim was also closed due to I have never used it & never inserted in phone. I am left with two SIM one is primary & the second one is secondary. Both number were ported from airtel & loop mobile & very unique vip number type. To avoid disconnection I always keep my secondary jio SIM in main phone number. I receive calls & sometimes I do recharge once in a year.

Yup,Jio deducts Rs 20 from top-up balance as number retention charges if no usage observed in last 90 days. @kukdookoo @siddudeagarwal
