Kashmir is very costly , MMT packages are good and can be trusted .
And keep 50k-1lac extra for extra expenses .
last year visted in april .. MMT package - 94k for 2 persons 8N/9D .
extra 80K for extra expenses , some mininmal shopping .

Last month..Got my package through an agent called "Discover Kashmir"
Got 4-5 quotations from various operators and Discover Kashmir were the most budget friendly.
(Not a promotion post. Suggested the same operator to my frnd for his honeymoon and he was also very satisfied with their service)

And please avoid kashmir in the holy month of ramadan .
Preferable to check on cleartrip. Avoid MMT

I mean.. unless of-course ir is a honeymoon type trip and/or one wants a very lavish place.
For a short trip like this, if travelling by train, then IRCTC itself might help with some option.. if can try.
If travelling by flight.. then can tap into the likes of Akbar travels, Kesari tours, Veena's world (started by the daughter of Kesari tours) or other such old world players.
Local help and options could be suggested if you give some idea of 'which' locations are on the radar.
