Few Suggestions
1. MSI Modern 14 Core i5 11th Gen
https://www.flipkart.com/msi-modern-14-core-i5-...
^^ This is currently priced @ 68K but it should be available for ~50k during BBD (The model u picked is OOS/undeliverable)

2. ASUS ZenBook 14 Core i5 11th Gen

https://www.flipkart.com/asus-zenbook-14-core-i...
^^ Currently available only from third party sellers so the price is about 5-10% higher (Expected Sale price : 60-65k )

3. Realme Book (Slim) Core i5 11th Gen

https://www.flipkart.com/realme-book-slim-core-...
^^ This one (@56k) got very good reviews but its coming from RealMe (New to Laptop segment)

4. Acer Swift 5 Intel i5 – 11th Gen
https://www.amazon.in/dp/B08P6...Y/
^^ Currently @ 70k, was 65k for prime day. Can expect 55-60k effective price for GIS

5. HP Pavilion Aero Ryzen 5-5600U
https://www.amazon.in/HP-Pavilion-Aero-13-3-inc...
^^ A bit costlier @ 75k (Was 60k on Flipkart sometime back via PE) but this one got 16GB RAM & weighs only 1KG + a very good screen w/ 400 nits brightness

6. LG Gram Ultra-Light 11th Gen Core i5
https://www.amazon.in/dp/B09B...JS
^^ The best option if battery life is your priority (got 72Wh battery). Regular price is 75k (OOS right now)

Few things that might be helpful
1. Upgrades will be limited. RAM will be soldered to Motherboard in most of the cases but you should be able to replace the SSD ( Some costlier variants got two NVMe SSD slots like LG Gram)
2. The Real-world battery life will be 50% of the advertised battery life by the brands (lesser in some cases) + check the Wh rating for laptop, the higher the better (For battery life)
3. Avoid ASUS Vivobook series and consider the Zenbook variants (ASUS is known to use cheaper displays on Vivobook laptops)
4. @ 50K price range, 250nits brightness is the most usual spec for laptop displays. But if there’s a need for outdoor use or if the work room is very well lit then its best to add 10k more n get brighter panels (300-400nits panels from 60-75k). And 45% NTSC translates to ~60% sRGB, so if you’re into color accurate work then get 72% NTSC / 100% sRGB rated laptops
5. Almost all the screens used on portable laptops are glossy which are generally very reflective compared to matte panels. So, just an addition of anti-reflective coating won’t bring significant change/improvement

Ordered vivobook flip 14 on flipkart for 51990. It’s a 2 in 1 laptop and my requirement is just casual browsing. For media streaming, i have led tv.

Take a look at this ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 Core i5 11th Gen – (8 GB/512 GB SSD/Windows 10 Home) TP470EA-EC029TS 2 in 1 Laptop on Flipkart

Planning to go with this -
Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 (2021) | AMD Ryzen 5 |14" FHD IPS |Thin and Light Laptop | 4-Side Narrow Bezel (8GB/512GB SSD/Win10/MS Office 2019/Backlit KB/Fingerprint Reader/Arctic Grey/1.41Kg), 82KT00BXIN https://www.amazon.in/dp/B096SKFBCF/ref=cm_sw_r...

Currently getting this for 47.5k from Lenovo website with 5k HDFC cashback.

Is it a good choice?
Shall I wait for BBD/GIF for better offers?

So, you’ve decided on the model
Cool!

BTW, its not the best time to purchase from Lenovo website
If you got a corporate ID, then there’s a base 7% discount coupon on regular days CORPEMP & 10-15% coupon on 1st of every month (SALARYDAY)

Additionally 10% bank offers are applicable on inepp2 portal too ( Affiliate cashback will be missed though )
-
Sad part is.. by the time sale starts on FK and Amazon.. the additional 5-7% discount will be gone from Lenovo

Is it better to go with 512 SSD or 256 SSD+1TB HDD ? @getready

For OS drive .. having an SSD is must ( + some apps .. to reduce the launch timings )
I prefer to save all my media content in HDDs, so its fine getting a SSD+HDD combo. Also, you can replace the 256GB SSD with a higher capacity one at a later point of time

That being said, 2.5" HDDs weigh ~100gms.. they make the laptops feel slightly heavier (which is not the case with NVMe/M.2 SSDs)

Also.. brands started launching laptops with a spare M.2/NVMe slot these days.. even on budget laptops

@getready need 8gb/512gb i5 11th gen. Hp 15s or dell Inspiron or Vostro or lenovo IdeaPad. Please suggest.
Very confused which is more durable. Just for home and few basic software tasks. Let me know if any other model also. And I see very low ratings for purchase from Amazon and Flipkart. And people suggest to buy from vendor website.

Checked MSI Modern? ( Metal Build w/ MIL-STD 810G certification )
https://www.flipkart.com/msi-modern-15-ryzen-5-...
^^ Check reviews on FK. Display isn’t color accurate but everything else about the laptop seems to be satisfactory

i5 11th gen variant (14") costs 10-20% more
https://www.flipkart.com/msi-modern-14-core-i5-...

HP 15s has only 41Wh battery and a plastic build ( Display quality should be same as MSI Modern ) and its a very heavy laptop (2.2kg)
