Need to convert an old sony led to smart as I've stopped STB/cable for it...
Suggest some cheap android boxes/stick that does not disappoint just after purchasing...
I found an unboxed realme 4k android stick for around 2k on the net... is it a worthy deal and option? I might also prefer cheaper options...

I feel Android boxes are better than Fire stick. I used both.
Coz few unofficial apps work fine with Android box, but dont work with D Pad on Firestick remote, although Firestick is also modified AOSP

if you have someone living abroad then get a onn tv device worth 20$ which is around 1700. Otherwise firestick is good.

if you don't need to sideload apps go for jio fiber with a STB. 999 plan gives you all subscriptions apart from netflix and 150mbps unlimited broadband. Service is awesome and you you can watch all live channels. This android box is better than any other you see. But you cant sideload apps. If you want something like Stremio, it is not possible. But if you are content with existing indian ott apps and content it serves the purpose perfectly. It is ultra smooth and lag free.

You will regret buying cheap sticks or boxes. Best option is to get firestick, may be not lite version but ones above that. You can install APKs in them as well.
