In my opinion it's not worth opting for Axis Priority Savings Account. The only advantage I had with Priority Account was I got the Pre Approved Axis Previlege Credit Card with 3 Lakhs Limit which I later converted into a Lifetime Free My Zone Credit Card when I tried to cancel it. Then I was also able to get the Airtel Credit Card instantly in a few days using the My Zone Card too. I had this Pre Approved Previlege Credit Card Offer for a very long time but only used it last year. The only other thing I really liked is the Lifetime free Priority Debit card and almost no other extra charges for any of the services and a host of pre approved offers.
Now coming to the horrible experience I faced to help u decide if it's really worth it. Features wise Priority Account is awesome and I never wanted to close it even if it was not my Primary Account anymore but Service wise it can't get worst than this. It's a long story. I have tried to make it short. Try reading it completely and decide if u really want to open Priority Account just for getting Pre Approved Credit Card.
I had this Priority Savings Account Active for more than 5 years. First couple of years I had all my funds in that account but due to poor service I moved to Previlege Banking in ICICI. But still I was maintaining the Priority Account with 2 Lakhs as AQB. But even though I was not using that account, I was very frequently been called by the so called Relationship Manager who is actually worse than any Sales Executive trying to force their products on us. He kept calling me for making me invest money in Mutual Funds, Insurance etc etc. He also used to force me to get loans as it's pre approved for me. Once he even sent a banking staff directly to my house for deliverting a letter regarding the pre approved loans available for me. They even made a hard enquiry on my CIBIL for a loan of 5 Lakhs without my consent which I didnt even initiate. Even when I kept telling him politely that I don't need any loans or insurance he won't listen. Even after blocking his number he used to keep calling me from other numbers and when I asked him not to call me, he said as a RM it was his duty to call and enquire the needs of Priority Customers.
And now after all this torture when I asked him to close my Priority Account he simply says something or the other and never allowed me to close the account. Even when I contacted the Phone Banking Officers they told me to visit the Home Branch for closing the account. So I had to change the home branch through phone banking and then finally submitted my account closure form in the new branch. Even then my RM called me and said he is the one who needs to process the closure request to his Manager as he is still my RM even after changing the branch. So I had to raise a complaint via Customer Care for not closing my Priority Account even after submitting Account Closure Form personally signed by me. Finally in the next two days the account was closed and everything was settled.
Once u get into the trap of Axis Bank in the name of Priority or Burgundy Account it's almost very difficult to come out of it even if u wish to. So think wisely and consider all options before choosing Priority or Burgundy Accounts from Axis Bank. Just a friendly gesture from my side to save u from falling in a trap.
