They asked me to raise the complain online.
You can display a message on lock screen with find my device containing owner details.
Lodge FIR jaisa bhi possible ho 😑
If the number is linked to bank account(s) it maybe be better to block the mobile no(s).

Don't go killing whoever took the phone DEXTER!.
Jokes aside,
Lost phones are rarely returned. Better block it and file a complaint with it's IMEI number online.
There are some projects that help you track your phone with your IMEI number. But I don't know any. Google it or anyone here maybe knows.
A decade ago I have used this sevice to track my sister's Nokia 5530, unfortunately it seems all such unofficial service providers are shutdown maybe by authorities.
Even if police find the phone. Getting it from them need a lot of work and patience and enery. If not expensive, let it go. Sad state of our government functionaries.
Really police officers did not show any intent to support.
phone is switched off now.
Someone told this works.
Try and let us know.
I knw abt this although never used it but I guess this will block the phone which probably will make it unusable for a thief and in such cases they will just throw it away.
What we really need as a service is to track the device.
Some times we tend to overthink.
If the mobile switched off due to low battery, Then it might be possible that it's still in post office. You can reach the post office early before the peon reaches, then search for the mobile at possible locations she might hv forgotten, if you're lucky you'll get the device back. Pay the peon 100-200rs he'll be happy to help. Best thing would've been to visit the office immediately but what's done is done. +also, post office have cc tv you can check that too. If its really pickpocketed by a thief, then forget it, chances that you'll get it back are very very slim.
Visited the post office and to my suprise it was still open, I have gave my detail so they may contact incase they have any update.
Goto ur network service provider and block sim card, and get new sim cards..
If it was an Expensive phone Offer 10-15 k to police officers as Bribe My friend lost an iPhone Worked that time He paid around 20k
What if he's PK sharma types? 10-15 wapis milega
We are very careless these days..
Only after losing valuables we learn & always stay alert from next time onwards.
I choose to think in advance every time even before any incident is approaching me.
Better be alert before loosing your device rather than depressed and wasting energy after loosing it.
To someone it might look like a physiological problem.
But for me It's better to have little inconvenience than having a lot of inconvenience later.
I advice myself and to others to always think that your mobile will be gone/ lost someday.
In order to stay alert.
I always use to keep thinking about my things being stolen in future all the time.
Thinking about future can change your current and avoid damage.
Always be careful in Marriages & Travel.
Once you bring out your phone to see notification you should immediately keep it in your pocket first rather than Desk, Wall, Counter, Table, Machine, Chair, Bed Etc except when you are at home. Do not keep mobile on anybody's desk counter even for a sec. Reputed bank might return it to you but you don't know who is gonna visit them next.
1 learning is that we should keep our data always ON.
This happened with my wife and she was carrying a 3 month baby so it's bit difficult to keep track of everything every time.
probably a last twist in the story, I found the device, it was in the Auto.
I was following up with the driver from last 3 hrs but his brother took the Auto so he couldn't search and his brother was unreachable as he was participating in the protest.
He came home just now and shared the good news with me.
Thank you everyone for your support and advices.
