Asking out of curiosity what would be the max limit in India and which banks offer these type of cards?
PS: One of my friends has 15L on HDFC Infinia.

AMEX Centurion virtually doesn't have a pre-set limit and u can buy anything in the world with it.
You can call ambani and adani and ask... They might be having the highest mostly
A friend has 1.5cr on his corporate card.

That's the power sleeping within the aam junta, ready to take on anything if needed - in other words OneCard : the common man's metal...

They don't need any credit card. Credit apne aap chalke aata hai. Aur write off bhi ho jata hai.
prem4998 wrote:Not fully correct. They say so but obviously there is a limit. If a person tries to buy say a building worth $5 billion, they are not going to approve it. So each person has some limit assigned and they might do a review when you want to go over it. In fact, people need to confirm large purchases with them beforehand where they can review and approve.AMEX Centurion virtually doesn't have a pre-set limit and u can buy anything in the world with it.
Max me/family have/had were:
45 L - Prestige. Closed
25 L - Sapphiro. Dad's current; soon to be closed.
35 L - Infinia. Reduced now to half.
28 L - Infinia.

- So, the Prestige (Citi) had this unique advantage when clubbed with CitiGold Private client programme (NOT Citigold alone) - Book 3 nights and you could effectively end up staying 5 nights (2 free) in most top end hotels. This was before covid struck. Slowly, Prestige returns and perks were cut down and the Citigold Private prog was increased to NRV of 5 crores in bank deposits/MF. The return/benefit was just not there & hence Prestige was closed along with the accounts. Holding prestige would have also made way for their top of line offering - The Ultima Inifinite (not signature) credit card. This card was never advertised by Citi India but was very well there. Huge benfits in A-PAC region even with Prestige before covid.
- Sapphiro (ICICI) is a useless card. No use of keeping high credit line open. Was holding it as it offered guest access benefit in International Lounges. Haven't been travelling much post covid so closing it.
- My Infinia usage came down post covid - no travelling, no cruises, no international holidays so HDFC reduced it on their own. I Still have 17.5L on it which would cover most emergencies. I am also holding a 8L DCB add-on card as a backup. Both Infinia & DCB cover Intl. lounge access too.
As of today, Axis bank has good lineup of cards for international trips and an amazing card for domestic flyers.

Hdfc used to allow holding two cards in 2017-19. Not sure of present situation.
I don't have Infiniti - unnecessarily high Nrv for it. I am having Hdfc imperia now. Considering downgrading that too.
Infinia was received on a regular 10k account with 3L ITR. So the aqb/account variant is not the sole criteria.

Nah. No Nrv maintained since 2019. Imperia customer care is pretty bad tbh. Am with Hdfc just coz of Infinia.
Bro in law received Infinia on regular 10k aqb account. I am aware of scores of people who got Infinia on regular 10k account. Only thing in common was they had hyper active account like loads on inward and outward money transfer.
Ramta_Jogi wrote:I mean to say just because we've Imperia they're not gonna offer Infinia. I was offered Infinia Metal while my savings account is standard 10k because as you said I used to spend loads on my existing regalia credit card, CITI bank was my primary account.Nah. Yeah, agree on that. I think there's no corelation between the savings account types and credit card offers.

Income to debt ratio goes up substantially. Even if you are not actually using the credit limit, you have the option to. That is red flag for credit card and loan providers to issue you with more cards or loan in future.
All in all you just need 1-2 cards with 10L limit combined to meet any unforeseen contingency within India and over 15L outside India. Mostly used for air ambulance or adventure sports /climbers with high probability of emergency evacuation.
Infinia has npsl (no pre-set limit) meaning you can get approved for 50 percent over your regular limit to meet any medical requirements, subject to approval of their team.
It's advisable to reduce your unused and open credit lines 6 months before taking any home loan.

Does Infinia really has npsl? I was offered for the first time in 2019 end and I was told there's npsl but didn't opt as then. Later covid thing happened and my spends have reduced drastically (90% less). I've got the metal edition recently but showing limit now. I was just wondering the same if the name justifies like infinite...

No card in the world is "infinite" . Not even Centurion/Amex Black. All depends on your relationship with the bank and history of spends, approval of upcoming spends.
Npsl is there on Infinia. I have put in advance request for the same. They told me to contact them 2-3 days before actual spend.
Infinia also has 50L medical insurance for international hospitalisation.
Npsl is temporary limit enhancement. You can ask for it once or twice a year. The enhanced limit spends can't be converted into EMIs
Ramta_Jogi wrote:I meant like the way Amex advertises their cards with no limit (of course there's always a shadow limit) Infinia also meant something far beyond we can use (equivalent to inifinite). Ok so is the NPSL limit is 50% more of the current limit or that too varies? oh got it.
Yeah got it. Yeah makes sense for the limitation of emi conversion.
Max they mentioned is up to 50 percent more. Yet to see it in practical world. Might need it in March so will keep you posted.
