misbehave by delivery person

ordered a heater from amazon for a senior citizen person who lives on first floor in other city. the delivery guy kept the heater on the ground floor and left when the senior citizen said from the top floor that hes coming down to receive it. there is no lift in the building. the heater came in original box with no brown outer box.the box was empty as it weighed nothing but was still taped from the sides,cello tapes type thing.the senior citizen immediately went outside with the box, the delivery person was on his bike.please note that this happened within one to two minutes max.the delivery person was very rude and said to talk to customer care. the senior citizen asked him that the box is weighing almost nothing but he said it is none of his problem and very rudely said not to waste his time and ran away. before going away he laughed and said on the senior citizen's face you must have took it out. no otp was received for this delivery. there is cctv which shows that the delivery person left it on the ground and after a minute or so the senior citizen took it and then went outside to talk to the delivery person. since price of same is above two thousand so customer care is asking for time to check. what should be done here? where to complain about this at the highest level?

This is really scary. We have to check throughly for every package and make unboxing video as amazon and Flipkart doesn't entertain such incidents anymore unless u have proof.

But Flipkarts open box delivery is somewhat assuring

Nothing to worry just file a case in online consumer forum and add photos . They will refund the money.

This must be frustrating!! Cant trust anyone. Pls update outcome .. I too have had issues twice with swiggy.. With missing item and wrong items... Mischief by delivery guy.. Lost money... Dint have patient to run behind these guys

There must be a huge difference in weight of the box with and without the heater. How the delivery guy would have dealt with if the customer was available at doorstep and refused to accept the empty parcel? What's your city by the way?

Hopes are less nowadays that it will require continuous back and forth to  get an outcome.

Things should be then and there when the delivery guy was there.

Start with Twitter, direct chat/phone support are useless.

Meanwhile keep all possible evidence to back your query.

Wait for Amazon's response and don't worry thill then. Try filing an online complaint with consumer forum post that.

Know the shopping experience is not smooth on e commerce sites.

I too faced a similar situation twice and left online shopping.

Paying 500 to 1k extra is peaceful at offline stores.

Parcel is not unpacked so customer should not  ask for video. If they ask unbox and share the video. Hopefully you will get refund

Contact  senior  citizens  helpline ,  file  consuner complaint  , contact  local  nagar sevak , if possible  tag PMO .

Senior citizens  may get priority  and those  frauds must be taught lessons as they might be doing fraud to many . Keep cctv footage and relevant  things handy .

The delivery guy took it out and handed it an empty parcel 📦

So in this case for the first time have to report to courier service company after consumer forum confused

Also need proof of happening like video or photos...

file a police compain under section 420  , police have old good method to deal with such people..

Which city bro?

1. Contact CC with all the details and proofs, which you already did, so let's wait on that.

2. Try to find the Amazon Delivery Centre of that city, talk to the senior person over there. They may come to the rescue. ( Try to get the things resolved calmly first, if they do not understand that then give the threat of the police/social media. Possibly record the whole conversation secretly. )

2 yrs back Amazon delivered one firestick instead of 2. Had ordered normal and a 4k firestick. 4k was stolen and the delivery guy took it for sure since the qr for secure packaging side was torn and i wasn't informed. He took otp, delivered n left. 

Evening when i checked the parcel found it wuss supposed to be 2 firestick.

You might think why i accepted the package with 1 firestick. 

I never ordered 2 together, amazon sent 2 firestick from 2 different orders together in a brown paper cover.

It took about 10 days to get the replacement firestick after chasing them 24x7. Worst experience. 

The Delhivery guy never came after that, either he absconded or was fired.

After that i triple check before accepting delivery, but now a days frauds happening at every level. Gone are those golden days. 

In your case,

Tweet them, chase them. 

File nch complaint immediately with a tkt number, takes about 10 days to resolve, if that does not work consumer court is the only option m

Being a senior citizen, no one is gonna give a damn, last time during a court hearing a senior guy Sat till the courts cases were all called and still his case wasn't called. In the end they said it was a technical issue and he has to come another day. 

The courier guy has taken your heater.
