Hello Dimers,

I have never ported out any mobile number till date so don't know the complete process. If anyone can post complete and updated process it will be helpful for me. Also if anyone ported out his/her mobile number recently then you can share your experience.

Thanks

P.S. :-  Port Out - From AIRTEL , Port In - To BSNL (AIRTEL to BSNL)

Telecom Circle - UP EAST

This will help. MAke sure to do it towards the end of your plans validity, like a week before. This way you won't lose any money. While most operators take 3-4 days to activate the new service i do not know about BSNL.

If you want, you may check my previous two posts too for any ancillary information.

Good choice by the way, if number is a spare number.

The usual process of MNP within the same circle is completed by T+2 of submitting the CAF (customer acquisition form) to the operator in which one is porting to.
This is obviously subject to everything working out fine.
Not much issues in BSNL, but retailers have to sometimes manually feed father's name etcetera in the Jio app and Jio often rejects if spelling mistakes or space in between words. (Like be careful ro not enter 'Madanlal' as 'Madan lal' if Aadhar has 'Madanlal').

T+2 means two working days after the transaction day. So if any regional or national holiday comes, then exclude it too, besides Sunday.

[For porting from one circle to another, it might be T+5. Jammu Kashmir and few other regions have even more delay at times]

For BSNL, I think the First Recharge Coupon (FRC) might be ₹249.

If the retailer from whom one is getting the porting done is savvy or interested in taking BSNL sales team's offer, the shopkeeper/retailer may even give the same FRC of ₹249 for free (zero cost to customer) or maybe charge ₹49 as the free offer is only for the first 50/100 customers who port to BSNL via that retailer/agent.

Long back, BSNL has migrated some of their cell sites in some of the rural areas from 2G to 4G directly.
Not sure how many of them are still working on the then imported 4G equipment. (After Huawei and others got banned, many imports and maintenance services stopped.)

Else for calling, BSNL is cheaper.

One has to be aware of which plans can be done during active service validity ONLY.
(Some plans, like the ₹94 plan i think, can only be activated if the number still has incoming call validity.)

I assumed that you already know or found out how the UPC (unique porting code) is generated.
