One of friend inquired a govt registered scrapping center for his 20 year old car in Maharashtra
As per weight on RC, agent offered 15k cash.
He will also issue Certificate of Deposite which he said can use two ways :
a) Sell that certificate to someone buying car in friend circle
b) use for buying own new car to get some discount on road taxes and full waiver of registration fees
he said upto 1 lakh can get using that certificate depending on buyer planning high range car ?
Has anybody have personal experience on that Certificate ?
any limits_max_discount/expiry/same owner type limitations on that Certificate of Deposite ?
any personal experience on that will help

advice-just renew fitness of car and resell it as in Maharashtra fitness can be renewed.
yes i am cross checking information given by agent....some part look genuine..as i checked on maharashtra news we have RSVF policy which allow road tax max 10k discount policy....https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/mumbai... renew fitness for next 5 years costing 8000+4000+4000=16000 in govt fees including insurance
Here are the incentives when you scrap old vehicles.
I scrapped mine through Cero: https://cerorecyclin...m/ It was painless process and got the COD (Certificate of Destruction/Deposit) including the car image.
These were suggestions to manufacturers in scrapage policy (gimmick's) to dump vehicles of users.
None of manufacture accepted it.
Infact force dumping on grounds of pollution happened in delhi region.
I think scrap benefits nowhere in reality.
Similar situation wanting to scrap an old complete non-functional car.

yes it looks like ground reality is different from news articles..please share if you get more details further on ground reality when exploring further in ur case
Car: Maruti Suzuki 800 Deluxe. Year/Model: 2000. Registration not renewed after 2020.
I checked 2 official RVSF in Rajasthan(no reply after saying send RC + Car Pics) , Mahindra CERO and Maruti True Value. Automatically got call from Tata Rewire(It seems to be operating with one RVSF).
CERO guy said will get 15k + 2 certificates from Ministry of Road Transport and Highways) + 1 from Mahindra and RC Cancellation.
Tata re-wire guy said : 12k + 1 certificate for destruction + RC cancellation.
Maruti True Value said : 15k + 15k(if you buy new car via exchange : no plan to buy) + 25% rebate/off on road tax.
Planning to see response from RVSF and then finalize. CERO looks good as of now.

@Faug thanks for sharing..my friend already registered on cero...in case cero facility nearby then they will call....waiting for call from them...if u can share more further a) how much money cero paid u and whether they towed vechicle from home? 854 is RC mentioned weight for my friend car b) using COD certificate what actual amounts of different benefits personally able to avail on ground in ur state ? it will help a lot
a) I guess I got 18k for my Santro and towed from the home location. It was parked in same location from few years, all tyres were damaged, not able to start etc. Total crap.
b) I didnt opted for the benefits as these are introduced now, I scrapped my car in 2020 and I already had Creata, got i10 nios shortly.
