Moto G84, NFC & Cred Gpay issue

Hello dimers,

I purchased Moto G84 as was bloatware free and NFC enabled device. Overall happy with the purchase. I know NFC is little bit fancy but I want to explore it for contact less payments.

Off late I tried to use it but unsuccessful everytime at stores and always left thinking will try again at other store.

Yesterday I explored device settings and found that my preferred payment app for contact less payments was set for imobile app. When I opened that option and tried to change it, I found that Cred and Google pay option is not there.

It means this device is not recognising Cred and Gpay as payment apps.

What's your opinion, who is faulty here?

My moto G82 device screenshot. Apart from that this default option only works when any app is not open. You can use cred directly by opening the app and selecting tap& pay option.

Off Topic: Don't you think making contactless payment that too without opening any app is a little unsafe?

I'm aware that with physical card we do the same thing but atleast we need to take out the card but our mobile is mostly out in our hands and any person can just take our phone and make the payment.

Transaction limit can be kept low. The mobile has to be unlocked first  AFAICT and thereafter apps like G Pay, Cred etc. insist on authentication yet again. Lastly NFC payment is seemingly only available at big retailers which reduces the scope of misuse.

@LIMBO

Phone needs to be unlocked before transacting seems the only layer of protection.

No further authentication is needed.

Also, contactless payments can be done wherever POS machine is available.

What if I don't have option of cred and Gpay at the same screen of which you shared screenshot. I only have option of imobile app.
