Our current generation is influenced by characters like Kabir Singh, Rocky bhai (KGF) and Ranvijay Singh (Animal), Pushpa. People are becoming aggressive while talking and swearing because it is being glorified in movies.

Good movies are becoming flop/underrated.

How appropriate is this? What is your thoughts?

I completely agree with you, bro! 💯 Negativity in today's movies spreads faster than positive influence. Villains are given more importance and power than the heroes themselves. Although good eventually prevails over the bad, it's disheartening since villains are portrayed as mass and powerful figures.

As per your input, yes, drinking, smoking, using bad language, living together, and normalizing glamour and lesbo culture have become commonplace after the rise of OTTs and current movies. While people do watch movies for entertainment and as an escape from reality, many children and adult boys nowadays idolize their favorite stars as if they were gods. Parents are failing to teach their children what values to follow and what to avoid.

Let me share a real-life example. An 8-year-old nibba I know casually incorporates Tamil words like 'Gotha' or 'ttha,' meaning your mom in a derogatory way, and 'Thevidiya Paiya,' meaning bastard, influenced by mass heroes (don't wanna name them) and their songs. pensive

On top of this , i am noticing how every OTT show/ movie is promoting SMOKING as a way of looking cool . forget mens , most of the womens are shown smoking like hell (every OTT) . when i watch something with kids i really wonder what impact it is going to make on there minds.

Cinema in India has become highly irresponsible and no Actors including highly and super rich gives a f*ck about people in there country. It really urges me to spit on them every time i see SRK , Akshay , Ajay raises those two fingers in Vimal Ad with that tatti expression. Even recently i saw player like Sehwag , Gavaskar , Kapil Dev doing ads of Gutkha and it immediately made me feel Yikes about them.

So as someone have said choose your heroes wisely , But Kids , Youth in there early age are not mature enough to understand this and falls for it.

Aamir Khan (in interview) and Nawazuddin Siddiqui (his journalist character in Bajrangi Bhaijaan) said it right.. Violence/Sex/Hatred sells ☹️

And very frighteningly, its not limited to movies but in real life politics and business. Very effectively used by the likes of Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Hollywood and their other war profiteer buddies.

(Gave my 2 cents since someone tagged me here. Otherwise I'm not active in discussion forums so if anyone feels offended by my opinions. Skip it. No need to pick fights, I'll be ignoring 'skws' anyway).

Indian audience is probably the most disillusioned audience in the world. They don't know how the world works. I wonder why people watch such stupid films. Why is there so much stupidity out there?

Generally speaking, the genres that are becoming popular - the ones glorifying violence or sex are not the product of a healthy mind. As in the story writers/director/producer somewhere himself is not only lacking talent and wanting to make a cash grab movie, but also perturbed somewhere on a deeper level. I feel the same about horror movies with violence taken to the extreme level or even certain types of music

Although all these movies are cringe, but if people are drawing inspiration from them then its momentary , they would automatically come on track after facing real life.

It is very sad to see how much people think when one film gets blockbuster

Where are this people when Dirty Picture got Hit infact, Vidya Balan got national award

Kabir Singh KGF, or Animal, watched a few lakhs of people, but what about you, who consumes twice-a-year shows like Big Boss?

What about consuming the vulgar content every day in the form of reels and shorts that are performed by underage people?

What is Indian society? There are more disturbing movies in Hollywood I saw a film in which a dad rapes his daughters every day. Is this a good movie?

Dirty movie wasnt "dirty" as such smile

More realistic than many movies out there.

For the US movie, their culture and regulation is very different. Although never heard the name of this movie, do share if you remember .

I 100% agree with the remaining part of the comment.

Well Bollywood is not really the problem its the society. We criticise each day to the bollywood but they are only selling shit because people are ready to spend heavy on shit.

I lost trust in audience when they admire reel fiction characters more than the real life heroes

So yeah we don't movies deserve movies like Sam bahadur that could not even cross 100cr in the opening week.

Unless people stop watching shitty show they would not even think to give us something we deserve. It's free money for them

Sam bahadur had several problems. While the theme is patriotic and energizing, the screenplay is bland and gets monotonous midway.

Same like Tejas (that was more jingoistic though).

Shershaah was actually a much more entertaining movie.

Movies where people already know the climax should be made with highest care.

Violence against bad is actually justified in our society (atleast for cinematic portrayal)

"I" didnt have much violence as such.

Aparichit's violence wasnt that involving and gave a sense of satisfaction of bad people suffering fate.

Problem with KGF, Pushpa, Animal, Kabir singh , etc. is that the person doing violence is propagating crime and necessarily not the "good" person.

Personally i dont feel that movies can have any significant influence on you if your family values are strong. Stay with your parents rather than wandering with "unproductive" counterparts.

Violence in any form should be condemned in my opinion.

Unfortunately violence is earning name fame and money.

It's a thought-provoking perspective, and the influence of popular culture, especially movies, on societal behavior is a complex and debated topic. On one hand, entertainment plays a significant role in reflecting and sometimes shaping societal norms. Characters like Kabir Singh, Rocky bhai, Ranvijay Singh, and Pushpa indeed portray intense and aggressive personas, which can potentially impact the way people perceive and emulate behavior.

However, it's crucial to recognize that media is just one of many factors contributing to social attitudes. Personal responsibility, upbringing, education, and broader cultural influences also play pivotal roles. Blaming movies alone for an increase in aggression might oversimplify the issue.

Additionally, the definition of "good movies" is subjective, and what may be considered a great film by one person might not resonate with another. The film industry is diverse, offering a wide range of genres and storytelling styles. While some commercially successful films might feature intense characters, there are also critically acclaimed movies that promote positive values and contribute positively to society.

In conclusion, while it's valid to consider the impact of movies on societal behavior, it's essential to approach the issue with nuance. Responsible filmmaking and a diverse range of content can contribute to a more balanced cultural influence. Moreover, fostering critical thinking and media literacy can empower individuals to distinguish between entertainment and real-life values.

I completely resonate with your sentiments! 💯 It's disheartening to witness the prevalence of negativity in today's movies, where villains often overshadow the heroes in terms of importance and power. Even though good triumphs over evil eventually, the portrayal of villains as formidable and influential figures can leave a lasting impact.

Your observation about the normalization of certain behaviors in movies and OTT platforms is spot on. The influence on children and young adults is particularly concerning, as they may perceive these on-screen behaviors as acceptable or even admirable. It emphasizes the crucial role parents play in guiding their children about values and distinguishing between fiction and reality.

Your real-life example underscores the impact of media on language and behavior, especially in the younger generation. It's a reminder of the responsibility that both the entertainment industry and parents bear in shaping the values and ethics of the upcoming generations.🌟
