All ur purchase will depend on personal situation which u haven't mentioned.

  • Moving temporarily or lock stock and barrel?
  • Moving in rented place or own?
  • Moving single or with family?

Anyways moving home 🏡 is such a hassle and even more is moving into different city 🏙 🌆

So +🔥 and 30 Karma 🛐✝️ given for good luck it is needed trust me 😅😊

It's very difficult for people to list all appliances at once. I would suggest you to post Discussion for each appliance category separately then you will get responses.

It always is referential.

.

.

For young couples.. it might be a bit about aesthetics.. w.r.t. home decor, furniture.

.

.

For single person, it may or may not be.

.

For families with kids or visiting parents, in-laws.. again one cannot think like a bachelorette or a bachelor.

.

.

Whether self owned or rented or in the premises of an acquaintance... that too matters.

.

People are known to say: now my son/daughter/xyz is coming back.. we need the premises in an days/weeks.

.

.

Some of the Usha Shriram (knocked down kits, can be assembled) furniture my folks bought in the early 1990s is still there at one of their premises.. in reasonably good condition.

.

But obviously q lot depends on up-keep and the material itself.

.

Nowadays, block board or fibre boards are passed on.. in most (so called) wooden furniture.

.

.

Also, budget matters if one has to suddenly relocate or leave.. May be due to promotion/ posting to a different site or due to layoffs or bad equation with management, colleagues.

.

Some of our domestic helps (maids).. in the past 15-18 years..

.. struck better deals with similarly relocating couples.

Someone is going to Dubai, someone to U.S. of A and someone to Bengaluru.

.

The domestic helps gor 43-50inch Televisions, large refrigerator and other items at much below the fair value.

(Obviously the original owners too were looking for good karma... of helping the underprivileged. And anyway getting N times income hike. So did not bother to haggle).

.

Sometimes.. buying second hans stuff..  is not a bad idea. Especially if the items are in good condition and seller genuinely tells the details.

A cousin of mine bought a second hand (barely used) Ford (not sure of the model) car from their landlords (who were on good terms).

.

After few years of his own family using it.. he was still getting almost the same price which he paid for the car... to his ex-landlord.

There was an era... ,#sigh

... when guns used to be sold as its components too.

.

By the way, I too hinted similar points as you, but the comment is not visible to all yet.
