What makes this card different from the other cards?

One Mumbai Smart Card is a prepaid transit co-branded card offered by Axis Bank in collaboration with MMOPL. This card offers integrated single wallet that supports regular payments across retail outlets as well as contactless payments (Tap & Pay) across Mumbai metro Line-1 stations. The card offers dual benefits to commuters such as cashless metro travel and shopping experience at merchant outlets, without the hassle of carrying multiple cards. This initiative is in support of the Ministry of Urban Development’s vision to address the need of Common Mobility Card.

Who is eligible to apply for the Axis Bank One Mumbai Smart Card?

Anyone above 18 years is eligible to apply for Axis Bank Open Mumbai card. However, having an active mobile number is essential.

Where can I get the Card? How do I apply for it?

The One Mumbai Smart Card can be purchased at any of the Mumbai metro Stations.

What documents do I need to apply for a One Mumbai Smart Card?

You will need to carry and show an officially valid document (OVD) as part of the min KYC details that need to be submitted for card creation. The list of permissible OVD’s include:
Passport
Driving License
Voter ID Card
PAN Card
Letter issued by National population register containing details of name and address, and Job Card issued by NREGA duly signed by an officer of the State Government

For Full KYC updation, you would need to carry the following Original documents;

A) Any one of the following documents:
Passport
Driving License
Voter ID Card
Letter issued by National population register containing details of name and address, and Job Card issued by NREGA duly signed by an officer of the State Government
Aadhaar Card (redacted – only last four digits of Aadhaar number to be mentioned on form + first eight digits to be masked on copy )

How long will it take to receive the Card?

The Axis Bank One Mumbai Smart Card is instantly issued to the customer on submission of the required details – name, mobile number, OVD (Aadhaar, Driving License, PAN, Voter Card, Passport or Job card by NREGA-ID)

What is the validity of the card?

The Axis Bank One Mumbai Smart Card is valid for 5 years, post which the card can be renewed at any of the Mumbai Metro stations.

How can this Card be used inside the Metro?

Below is the Step-by-step procedure to be followed for using One Mumbai Smart Card for Metro:
Visit your nearest Mumbai Metro Station. Tap the card at the entry gate and as the gate opens, proceed to the platform for boarding the metro.
After completing the journey, tap the card again at the exit gate of destination station.
The fare amount for the journey undertaken will be automatically debited from the chip balance on the card

What does e-Balance and Chip/Card balance on card refer to?

“e-Balance” refers to balance maintained in the card backend system which can be used for making purchases at retail POS location and Ecommerce transactions

“Chip/Card balance” refers to the balance maintained on the card chip which can be used for making offline tap and go transactions at Mumbai Metro stations

Does the card come with a PIN?

The card does not come with a pre-set PIN; however, you can set your PIN immediately after purchasing the card at the Mumbai Metro stations. You can load money on to the card and transact only after the PIN is set.

What do I need to do in case I have forgotten my PIN?

If you have forgotten your PIN, you may reset your PIN (after verification of details) at any of the Mumbai metro stations.

How can I set/change my PIN?

You may reset your PIN at any of the Mumbai metro station ticket counters or Customer care desks.

How do I load money on to the Card? Where can Card be reloaded/topped-up with money?

You can top-up or reload the One Mumbai Smart Card through cash or debit card/credit card through any of the following channels:

Mumbai Metro Stations:

Hand over cash to the operator or use your debit/credit card for making payment
Dip the One Mumbai smart card in the EDC machine provided by the operator. You will receive an SMS alert on your registered mobile number on successful loading.

Is the reload on the Card, chargeable? Are there any charges for loading the card online?

No Loading charges are applicable on the card.

Why do I need to make a balance sync transaction at issuance counters/Axis Bank merchant terminals/ RuPay merchant after loading to use it in the metro?

Your Axis Bank One Mumbai Smart Card maintains a local balance on its chip in addition to the e-Balance maintained in our backend system. This is to allow quicker and more convenient use in transit using the chip balance available on the cards.
When your Card is used for tap and pay transactions at Metro, its chip balance reduces.
Similarly, when you do an online top-up transaction, your e-balance gets credited and hence you will need to perform a balance sync transaction at metro station counter to push the required balance onto your card chip.

Where can this Card be used?

The One Mumbai Smart Card can be used inside Mumbai metro to purchase tickets. This Card can also be used for regular retail purchases like any regular Debit/Credit Card across India.

Can this Card be used at all merchant outlets?

The Card can be used at any RuPay enabled merchant outlet in the country for a purchase transaction.

Where can I find RuPay enabled merchants in my city?

Almost all terminals at merchant outlets that accept VISA and MASTERCARD, also accept RuPay cards for payments

Can this card be used to shop at merchants outside Mumbai?

Yes, it can be used at any Rupay enabled merchant outlets across the country.

Can this card be used for E-commerce transactions?

Yes, One Mumbai Card can be used to E-commerce transactions.
