Today I wanted to check which cc variant I am eligible for. I wanted to go ahead with the application if I could get select variant. During application I entered my healthy HDFC cc limit and the system showed I am eligible for wealth variant with good credit limit. I gave my pan and aadhar etc details. And then I immediately completed video kyc. The whole process took just about 10-15 min. I thought I would have to give hdfc cc statement to the agent. But half an hour later, I got SMS saying my card was approved and I would get it in 5 days. I downloaded their app and could see the card details in the app. I never had such completely online and short application process with any card so far.

Ps: I don't have savings account with them

1. Which hdfc credit card you hold and its approx limit
2. What’s your cibil score
3. Where you entered your hdfc credit card limit during idfc credit card application process i.e, in your annual income option or is there any specific option for entering existing card limit if you apply on card 2 card basis
4. Which idfc card did you get and is it’s limit given more than hdfc or not

i applied in November for idfc select on C2C basis. I was given 2 lakh limit on basis of statement but after document pickup it was rejected after few days. Yesterday received a mail from IDFC for pre approved Select Credit card with limit of 2.5lakh. Opened the link and applied and card was generated instantly.

Ps- having idfc zero balance account from few years which I opened to get cashback 😝

Applied through my regular phone number (number given for other cards) but application was rejected twice. Applied with my alternate number last month and card was conditionally approved with limit of 50K. They wanted me to do VKYC.As the limit was low, did not do the VKYC.

This alternate number trick worked with Flipkart Axis Card as well. May be folks whose applications were rejected should try with alternate numbers.

IDFC RM calls me and tells me I have a "pre-approved" CC and offered it LTF. He applied and sent me a rejected screenshot. I complained to their upper management and got my CIBIL Enquiry removed from the enquiries after a few dozens of emails and a free CIBIL one month subscription paid in Amazon GV from them.

Trying to find a logic for CC eligibility algorithms is futile.

In OP’s case, he entered HDFC CC limit, which they never verified. HDFC doesn’t report CC limit to CIBIL. Nothing works on faith here. So that being the criterion won’t be the case here. OP might be holding some premium card, which may have low limits. Lower limit doesn’t matter here, holding a premium card matters and this banks verify while enquiring CIBIL score.
