My journey to get a TCL Tablet Repair

I purchased a TCL 10-inch tablet from Amazon on August 8, 2022. After about 3-4 months of use, I began encountering issues with the charging port becoming loose. In my effort to resolve this problem, I decided to seek assistance from TCL's service center in Delhi NCR. I visited their website, https://www.tcl.com/in/en/support/mobile-model/..., and found a hotline number for tablet repairs, which was listed as 9311226140.
Unfortunately, my initial attempts to contact this number were met with no response. Undeterred, I persisted, calling once or twice a week for a month, but still, no one ever picked up. Frustrated by the lack of communication, I resorted to reaching out to the outsourced company responsible for TCL's service center by emailing [email protected], but my emails went unanswered as well.
Feeling helpless, I decided to search for alternative contact options on TCL India's website and sent them an email, explaining my predicament. Fortunately, I received a reply from TCL India, and they provided me with another email address to help me get in touch with the service center. Following this, I received a call from a lady after two days, who informed me that TCL only had one service center in Delhi NCR, located in Gurugram. She kindly provided me with the address and phone number.
Eager to resolve the issue, I took time off from work and embarked on a 32-kilometer journey to the service center. However, upon my arrival, I couldn't locate the service center, even when i was at correct place. I sought assistance from the nearby gym, and they informed me that the service center had moved just a week ago. Although they couldn't pinpoint the exact location, after a bit of wandering and numerous calls, I finally managed to reach the new shifted address of service center.
To my surprise, it turned out that the location I found was not a service center but rather a collection center. After inspecting my tablet, the lady informed me that the loose charging port issue was not covered under warranty, and I would need to pay around 850 rupees for the repair, which would take approximately a week. This was disheartening, as I wondered what the point of having a warranty was if I had to bear the cost and endure a lengthy wait for a repair that I could have had done locally for 300-400 rupees.
I decided to skip their services and directly visited one of the most advanced multi-brand service centers. Their technician informed me that it might be challenging to obtain the necessary parts to repair the charging port. Despite their best efforts over another week, they ultimately concluded that the parts were unavailable in the market.
Frustrated but determined to get my tablet repaired, I returned to TCL's service center in Gurugram and deposited my tablet. The lady at the center assured me that they would call me once the repair was complete. She also told me it takes max of a week to get it done. This was on September 2, 2023. However, from the following week onwards, I began calling them every week, only to receive excuses such as the tablet being in transit, and so on.
One and a half month had passed since I had handed over my tablet, and with no resolution in sight, I resorted to writing emails to every single email address listed on TCL's website. Regrettably, none of my emails received a response. I also took to Twitter and posted my grievances in YouTube comments, but all my efforts proved fruitless.
I dont know what to do now but sharing my story to my community so that if any one of you planning to ever buy a TCL Tablet get ready for similar journey.
This is the only TCL Tab collection center in whole Delhi NCR.

These service centre mostly do not want to job for free if it is free they take lots of time to do it
I also saw dirt cheap prices of their tablets on Flipkart...but if you look closely in the image of the product, it is written "clearance price" no warranty...so I said to myself : "jaldi wahan se hato" and pressed back button
Lekin cameraman ka phokus toh sastey par hi rehta hai.
I started reading with the hope that OP might have got a great resolution at the end but it's disheartening...
Do customers need to wash their devices thouroughly in that wash basin at the entrance before handing over to TCL guys ?
If u do that you have to keep it with you only
Take this matter to consumer court that TCL failed to provide you warranty and highlight issue on twitter.
How will you track them if they move the service centre to another location and discontinue their registered mobile numbers?
No option because no one gets back to you with any listed communication. I have checked twitter and its full of my kind of people running for after sale service and warranty. And to my surprise no one replying them too. Every 2-3 hour i see new tweet of complaint that no one is listening to them.
Generations after generations, bade bujurg bol-bol k parlok sidhaar gye ki "sasta roye baar-baar, mehenga roye ek baar".
Magar kya majaal jo kabhi koi bujurgon ki sun le. You buy cheap, you are treated cheap. This is totally on you and only you.
Exactly why I didn't get a Toshiba TV which came with at a mouth-watering price with a 3 yr warranty and instead went with a Sony that cost 2.5x times as much even though it came with a 1 yr warranty. Some of Toshiba's reviewers had said what I feared - the service centers are non-existent / poor.
Toshiba used to be awesome (it is Japanese, after all) but is nearing bankruptcy and has sub-contracted the Indian manufacturing which I am sure use a lot of Chinese parts.
"I began calling them every week, only to receive excuses such as the tablet being in transit, and so on."
Probably it's on its way to Huizhou via a cargo ship that's why taking so long.
Quality comes at a price. This is why I never recommend people to buy rebranded electronics or even in general, quality comes at a price. I don't have a suggestion just a heads-up to others.
to end abhi baki h
I mailed them link of this thread also tweeted them. Twitter is kind of inactive for them but lets see how the power of community hit them on email. But as far as my experience of 1.5 month they will keep ignoring shamelessly.
I will surely update till i get it back. (Someday)

Even after sending this thread's link to twitter and all the emails listed in TCL India and Global sites no reply even after 2 days. So i thought to call that lady of collection center and BEG for help. Fortunately she (Collection center or she both are same as she is the only staff there.) picked up the call. I told her that i mailed everywhere tweeted but got no reply. She told me that it wont help with TCL as they dont care for these kind of complaints, but i will try to help you just send me jobsheet on WhatsApp and call at 5-6pm ill update you. So the result is below.
She stopped picking up phone for now.
Hide her number.
I just mailed these shameless people again after 7 days of wait and no reply. I have decided to file this issue to consumer forum if i did'nt get my Tab this week.

Its the typical chinese strategy of dumping electronics in the market without caring for the after sales.
First it started with the phones. Redmi , LeEco , Coolpad , Oppo , Vivo , Huawei , Honor bringing all brands together to kill the competition of the likes of Sony , LG & Asus , Motorola . Also we all know what costs are we paying for the cheap phones getting our data pushed to their servers and probably being profiled by the Chinese authorities .
Recently TVs are being dumped in the Indian market by Hisense , TCL , CoCo to probably kill the remaining players Panasonic / LG / Sony / Samsung . While I was on the lookout for a budget TV I bought a rebranded Hisense TV sold by VU as VU at least has better after sales service experience when compared to the horror stories of Hisense and its subsidiary Toshiba
Even the growth of Hikvision in CCTV & DJI in drone space is alarming . This can be a serious security issue these companies ever become the numero uno for the government contracts
The future is dumping of EVs . EV two wheelers & motor cycles are already being dumped in India with many Indian EV startups just claiming its made in India. The Chinese EV manufactures like BYD , MG are again something to be really cautious about on the longer run.
Its extremely unfortunate that in a price sensitive market like India these dumping strategies work all fine. We can hate them but we cannot ignore them because the price / performance offered by the Chinese is unbeatable .
But my only suggestion would be when buying any high value electronics / EV Vehicles it will be better to stay away from these Chinese players as much as possible
