34 states/UTs under some lockdown,

Nearly 98% of India’s population is under some form of lockdown.

Data show that while we may not have nationwide lockdown in place, as many as 34 states and union territories have some form of restrictions in place.

As of now, restrictions are in place across 28 states and 8 union territories in India. In some parts, containment measures are localised and confined to a few districts.

In other words, almost 98 per cent of India’s population is under some form of a lockdown — some through the week, some during the weekend, and with some under extended night curfews and restrictions on public events, mass gatherings and movements.

Among states, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Odisha, Haryana, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram and Puducherry have full lockdown in place.

Even in other states such as Gujarat, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa, J&K, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Leh, Tripura and Himachal Pradesh, there are restrictions in place. But they are not as stringent as full lockdown.

While states like Tamil Nadu and Kerala have been giving cash handouts and food packets to the ration cardholders, other states are yet to announce welfare schemes to cushion the blow of lockdown on the vulnerable sections of the population.

Initiative is good, the issue lies with the implementation part (just like everywhere else). Looks like party time for all municipal workers, daily 2000/- minimum.

It’s hilariously 9 PM to 5 AM lockdown in the state of Telangana, not sure how effective it even is. Our dear government is reducing the number of tests day by day and positive cases too.

Not sure why patients are unable to get beds in hospitals when cases are going down. Blatant tampering of numbers!

Same case everywhere bro; Sab ke sab chor hain… Here in northern states also similar thing, they have reduced testing citing: “upar se order aaya hai, test kam karwao taaki kam cases ae” (Higher management is asking governement hospital to do less testing so that numbers get reduced !!!)
People are dying like anything, no beds, no oxygen, no medicines, no healthcare; and this is the situation of the middle class who can even at least afford to go the hospitals and try getting stuffs at super inflated price; lower class people can’t even get this, and so their numbers are not even getting added and tracked in the mortality rate… This is just sad sad

Kerala is doing better I feel. The numbers are going up every day because everyone with symptoms are being tested. So far nobody died without getting treatment or oxygen.
But situation is going out of control and hospitals are getting filled fast. Vaccine is not at all available and people are rushing for it.
It is very strict lockdown now. Nobody is moving out without a police pass.

Again same thing as @deb3l said, Initiatives are good but important is implementation on ground. System is getting more and more corrupted.
Still liked especially 2nd initiative. Future of children effected by this pandemic should be secured atleast.
