Planning to purchase new motorcycle soon as current bike (pulsar 135) is giving lot of trouble now and every 15 days it has to be taken for some repair.

Thinking of buying a family friendly bike with average as primary requirement. Narrowed down 2 options

  • Honda shine 125 (disk) with on road price 98,700/-
  • Bajaj platina 110 (disk) --- yet to enquire but approx. 78k

If anyone have first hand experience (and preferably of newer model) of any of the above bikes, please share pros and cons regarding same. Also if there is another option available, do suggest.

heard from some, both splendor and glamour are not worthy. many issue with current models.
So probably shine. Although sometime back, bajaj launched platina with ABS which currently seems to be unavailable. Would have considered it but now confused with both these option

No to Bajaj if you want to use for years, wears out easily. Try to get models having abs with disc brakes.

One can look at Honda and Suzuki too... You didn't share max budget.

Suzuki only have gixer which I am not fan of. Looking for a bike for daily commute so one with better mileage. Honda has shine and SP 125. Later one is all bulky and fibre body. And regarding ABS, currently no bike below 150cc comes in ABS (as far as I checked).

Yes it has 2 budget model.
Raider
Radeon

Raider is newer model with all latest features. It looks good and all. But have some doubt with its build quality. Also reviews say, not comfortable in long rides. It was not available for test ride at my dealership so can't say about that.
As for Radeon, don't know much

Shine k disk brakes will feel like drum breaks and it skids if there is even little water on the road. Plus it dosnt look very stylish later u may regret why u didn't took something just a little more funkier.

Happened with me as i have Honda shine

Thanks for feedback. And I too feel these 2 shortcomings in shine. Rear tyre should have been wider. And analog metre. So if you would have choosen now, which one you will pick

Regarding Hero, I get it. But using bajaj since 2010 (or even before when we had chetak), servicing and maintenance is no issue in bajaj.
