Have fuel spends of 5000 per month on average… any more tips/tricks?
Monthly iam spending 4000 to 5000rs for fuel . So iam looking for a fuel credit card but iam really confused which one should I select. So please help to choose the best card with better rewards points . Iam okay to pay 500+ gst annual fees and I already own ICICI Amazon pay credit card and Flipkart axis credit card.
Below are my personal findings pls correct if I’m wrong.
1, SBI BPCL Credit Card
Annual fee 499 + gst
4.25% value back
works only in BPCL pumps.
Will get rewards points if swiped using Any banks POS machine.
2, Axis IndianOil Credit Card
LTF if applied before 31 march
5% value back
works only in Indianoil pumps.
will get rewards points/cash back only if swiped with Axis Bank POS machine.
3, ICICI HP Super Saver Credit Card
Annual fee 500+ gst
5% value back
works only in HP pumps
will get rewards points/cash back if swiped using any banks POS machine.
4, HDFC IndianOil Credit Card
Annual fee 500+ gst
5% value back
works only in IndianOil pumps.
will get rewards points/cash back only if swiped using HDFC Banks POS machine.

I’m currently using junio card for past 2 months, it is giving me full surcharge refund and 4% cashback. It might be a good temporary solution but I don’t expect them to provide these benefits forever
Citi indian oil
I’d suggest get a card which will give rewards on any pos machine.
I got one citi iocl and none of the Indian oil pump near my location have citi pos machine.
Will get sbi octane or bpcl as you mentioned they work on any bank pos machine.
Minimum points for Citi iocl redemption is also set at 10k points which is not easy plus seems uncertain as citi likely going out

what is the annual fee of citi card ? I read somewhere that citi stopped their operation in india is it true ? My nearest branch is 90 km away from my house is their any chance to get .
Axis indian oil card is good ltf and 5% value back but the only problem is rewards is only applicable if we swiped via Axis pos machine (need to confirm this )

Citi is on fire with offer in recent months.
They’ll sell cc business to axis it seems, what axis does with cards is upto them.
Annual fee is 1k+gst which is waived if annual spend is more than 30k (which is easily achievable, reasonable).
There’s an offer running now on Citi cards, u get 3k as joining bonus on spending 5k.
Check online, if CitiBank is serviceable in your location. Then you can get it.
But I’d suggest stay away from specific pos machine swipe cards like these.
Recently i was on a three week vacation in Goa, iocl has very few pumps there and all of them are closed after 11PM, so had to take petrol from bpcl pumps only.
Even in Pune, this card hasn’t been worth it. Three iocl pumps within 10km of where I live and none had citi pos machine,
Tis the list of supported iocl outlet which supposed to have citi pos machine, but very few do i think

Union bank HPCL RuPay credit card also available - https://www.desidime.com/deals/union-bank-launc...

Who said you need to have minimum 10k points ? If I have 3000 points and fill fuel for 3000 or less, i will get link in sms to use points for the transaction. This can be done within 24 hrs of transaction.

Citi pos machines not compulsory for rewards. The pumps have to be in list of Citibank, any pos will do

Higher fees though.
Higher fee, but has highest reward rate for Fuel I think

Yes, you are right.
It works On any bank’s EDC machine at authorised outlets. I went through the terms.
Old dd comments suggest otherwise so i was under the impression that card needs to be used in citi pos machine for best benefits.
For rp redemption, i haven’t recieved any sms yet. In app, it says maintain 10k rp for Citi rewards and iocl card and 250 for Citi prestige. I have around 540rp only.
You only use Citi iocl petrol card or have other fuel cards also?
What is the opinion about icici hp super saver card .
5% cash back .
we will get 5rs for 100rs spend.
While sbi bpcl card only gives 4.25rs for 100 rs spend
How about citi indian oil card in comparison to the 4 cards mentioned in the post?

Higher fees though.
Best card.
sbi octane . 1st year fee 1769 , (1499+GST ) compensated by 1500 rs fuel points . (6K points – redeemable directly @ bpcl pumps, but catch is only number of pumps have this redeem facility @ kerala )
Then if you can spend 2L in an year, annual fee waiver.
for 1000 rs fuel 60.70.as cashback ( after deducting surcharge GST )
+ grocery purchase 25 rs worth point for 1000 rs purchse .
I was using HDFC IOCL CC from the last 04 months at Indian Oil Pump and was wondering why I am not getting 5% cashback. Thanks OP to enlightening me that cashback works only with HDFC Bank POS machine.😀
Filled fuel around Rs. 12500/- w/o cashback in the past 4 months. 😒
Which is the best Indian oil credit card for monthly spends 6k-7k ?
I am using ICICI HPCL super saver. Gives 5% direct cashback in bill + 1.5 % payback (6 points) if paid via HP pay app. So , overall 6.5% return on max 5000 / month spend.
