Friends., I have to book tatkal ticket on emergency basis tomorrow morning. I searched on internet and figured mobikwik payment method is fastest if used on irctc app. I haven't used mobikwik since very long but when I downloaded mobikwik app I am able to load money to my wallet. Kyc status shows incomplete and when I clock complete it asks for video Kyc. My query is

(1) is mobikwik wallet best option to make tatkal booking on irctc mobile app?

(2) if I am able to load money in mobikwik wallet does that mean my minimum kyc is active and I will be able to use the loaded amount without any issue?

(3) if tatkal tickets get sold out and I am stuck with balance in mobikwik wallet can I transfer it back to bank acc by any chance?

TIA for help.

Use IRCTC wallet, need only OTP for payment. (But I don't know why they want OTP.)

UPI should be the best

UPI isn't the best. I have personally experienced and a few friends also experienced that UPI payment fails during Tatkal Booking.

Just as an update for all, I could not do the Tatkal booking today because of reason I highlight below, but do read below as that will probably help you with getting confirmed Tatkal booking :

1) I checked today early morning at around 8 am to see the number of Tatkal tickets that will be there in the train I was eyeing. I saw 24 tickets in 2nd AC. The fare was showing 2990, which included 500 Tatkal charges. Accordingly I funded Mobikwik wallet by 10,000 rupees as I had to book 3 tickets. I added 1k extra thinking in case there any additional charges or convenience fees then that will be taken care of.

2) At 9:59 a.m. I logged in to the IRCTC app. I had already added the passanger details in my profile yday. At 10 a.m I searched for train and saw 24 tickets available. Server became slow so it took 1min to retrieve the saved passanger details. But once it fetched, selecting all members at once is easy in the IRCTC app. I selected that and went to payment page.

3) I reached payment page at 10:04 a.m. and in summary it was still showing 24 tickets available. But strangely the fare payable showed 11,990. I was wondering what to do, and I decided to continue with Mobikwik thinking it will ask me to pay additional 1990 using card/upi.. Mobikwik payment is super quick on irctc app as it doesn't navigate to any other page.. as soo as I entered my mobile number, it sent me otp in just 2 seconds.. but once I entered otp I got failed txn msg and an sms from mobikwik that my txn failed due to lack of 2250 addl amount (seems mobikwik adds some convenince as well which is it was 1990 plust 260). I then retried paying through card but then I had to restart whole process again by when the tickets were gone sad

4) for ppl looking to book tatkal ticket, I think doing via IRCTC app plus mobikwik payment is the fastest but you need to just add passanger details first on irctc website, and then fund mobikwik wallet sufficiently and then your changes to get confirmed ticket are maximum.

Sorry that you missed booking the ticket.

I tend to use upi and approve from phonepe on a secondary device.
A friend suggested to use QR code. Both should be fast though.

An old post of mine, which probably is still relevant
