research well about diamonds yourself before purchasing one
for me they dont hold any value, only gold does

Insist for diamond classification certificate whenever and from wherever you buy.
Tanishq and brands provide that certificate/card on which you can rely upon.
Local shops rarely provide certificate and may sell you American diamond/zirconia/plastic in name of diamond.
Be careful
P.s. value of diamond won't appreciate like gold, neither seller other than original seller will accept in return and pay price incase you wish to resell it after some years.
