Greetings Dimers,
I’ve closed my Axis account so looking for a replacement. I already have HDFC and SBI and want to open one last account. Which ICICI account type offers zero balance or I can make zero balance after some initial funding ? Does ICICI have account like hdfc classic, preferred where once account upgraded we can enjoy zero balance benefit and free dc?
TIA.
PS: Please exclude ICICI Mine account.
No ..no free dc on account less than 50k balance….better to get a ICICI fd..and get fd based cards on that….it’s ltf and you will get all the ICICI offers …and for initial funding and making account zero balance after sometime…you need to talk to the manager of the branch…they give specific offers if you are lucky ..
Walk into any branch with a cheque of 5L, open a Wealth Account, and have a 0 MAB account for life.

It’s 10 lakh for non wealth branches I enquired also in normal branches they ask so many questions about profession, salary, purpose of this account they deliberately avoided me from taking wealth account instead they insisted me to take their titanium privilege account. I got pissed and postponed my account opening to next year since most private banks staff change every year

I think there are branch specific offers for opening a 0 bal silver account. You will have to check with your branch manager for that.
Why don’t you go for Neobanks
Hi guys one question.
HDFC doesn’t Downgrade accounts or write penalty if we don’t maintain the necessary balance in premium banking i.e. preferred/imperia
Is it the same for icici, one & gold accounts. Or they charge and downgrade??

In my case Titanium upgrade happened in 15 months. Since it was opened as a zero balance and upgraded later on, I am still required to maintain 0 being a Titanium Privilege Banking Customer.
They do have privilege(premium) banking and wealth banking(must maintain high balance or they levy penalty) separately. Privilege banking doesn’t have anything attractive but the wealth banking do.

Haven’t had much experience with icici bank’s accounts so can’t tell. Only have a icici bank mine account.

I recently moved to HDFC classic as I do not get any value or cashback offers from ICICI. Their premium banking is a joke unless it’s a wealth account.

Although you took only silver account, if you have idea can you suggest an account type (1 or 2 lakh minimum balance) that allows 0 balance and free trading and demat account
@SastaRaju @Ramta_Jogi I saw that one titanium account (2 lakhs) gives 0 balance account. What happens if I don’t maintain balance, any penalty or downgrade.
Also demat account is free, annual maintenance from 2nd year as said by description, will it also be waived?

Since your requirements are customized, I would recommend visiting the nearest branch and convince them with your initial deposit amount. They might give the 0 balance account with demat facilities and offers.
These 0 balance account offers are location specific(in terms of initial deposit) so visiting the branch will give you up to date info.

Icici will charge if you dont maintain AMB for titanium/gold account, whether they downgrade no idea
Hdfc will downgrade if you have upgraded offline to premium banking . No charges for non maintenance tho . For online upgrade they only send reminder nothing else
Btw their speciale accounts are chargeable

No amc waiver for titanium account , chindi bank
Only hdfc has this feature
For icici just talk to BM , they have internal 0 bal life time account if you deposit 1-2L when account opening You can withdraw next day
And titanium deducts bal for non maintenance

I will do it through BM like you suggested. I will approach HDFC bank branch for LTF trading and demat account or would you suggest I take ICICI demat+trading even if paid one?

Already have Jupiter. I wouldn’t recommend to Neo banks to anyone though. If you run in some trouble they won’t able to help you because they don’t have your financial data, they depend on their partner bank. I had some problem with an international transaction so after the 10 days of complian they told me we don’t support all international merchants. That’s it, that was their explanation.

I have both and I find ICICI to be a little polished , btw not worth paying 840 bucks per year on Amc when you can get one for free . Neo has lots of restrictions and misc charges so ignored . ICICI CC support is awesome tho
Hdfc bank def if you plan to hold for 30-35 years . Their CC is crap
From Hdfc pref , amc is free if you just do 1 trade in a year
Btw you can open it directly online via NB , no need to visit branch
For swing and intraday go for zerodha . Bank brokers eat too much profit
For long term bank brokers are the best and safest
If you dont have HN banking and have to pay for AMC go for ICICI

I have preferred, so I’d go for hdfc. Thanks. Happy new year.
