Hello All,

One month ago my dad bought an Airtel sim card from Airtel gallery. Yesterday, while setting up account on Airtel Thanks I found that the account is already created on someone named “Rituraj Saroha” I didn’t paid attention that time. But, today when I used this number to create account on Zomato
I found that even there it already has an account in the name of the same person and also one order has been placed from that account in the January.

I have asked Airtel to contact me since I am not able to connect with their customer support team. What should we do next?

Seems this no. got closed recently, Mine Airtel Broadband was also showing someone;s else name in initial period.

They might have done that, but they dont have access to zomato database and airtel thanks (though its airtel but operates as a normal independent app) database ,
Most probably OP got a non-virgin SIM, better to get it closed and apply for a new one ASAP , no other solution in my knowledge

Will using this card for normal usage have any side effects? Airtel has contacted me but that call was from postpaid team, they said they would arrange a callback from prepaid team. They have just noted down the details for now. I made account in Paytm Payments Bank will this number will closing this number have any effect on it?

Also, what does it means If the number is appearing on someone else name? Is that person using the same number too? We got this number from Airtel gallery in our town.

No bro, most probably that other guy surrendered this number sometime back and it was re-allotted to you.
Most likely, he wont be having access to this number now, but you will lose the new user benefits of various sites if he has used them already

He used Zomato (One sole order placed without using first time user code cry cry , it pains to see zomato order without applying discount code)

Side effects are there. If this person has taken a loan and has not repaid it then you can expect recovery agents calling you everyday for the loan. Also, you end up getting many unwanted calls. Better to get fresh unused number.

Actually, I have completed Full KYC, setup merchant account for shop & opened Paytm bank with this number now. I am worried I may lose all this If I go for number change. Paytm merchant team is not at all helpful If we need their assistance at any step.

As you alrewady opened Paytm and do KYC ,Dont close or change this number. Now only ZOMATo offer gone. keep this number.
also please check freecharge, amazon etc are created with this number before. Use this number fro login, if no account exists message then no problems.
