New firetv marketing gimmick
I have firetv 4k max that has wifi6, hdr10, dolby vision & atmos support(?).
Now amazon has new generation firetv 4k stick currently selling @ 5999.

Not able to understand whether its marketing gimmic or really has some pros?

Its most likely just a processor upgrade. There's a what's new button on the page, that itself has just 3 items, processor, ram and wifi 6 (which you anyway have)
Old tv wont have have 4k for sure.. so pointless buying 4k.. unless you want add in existing 4k smart tv
still better to buy the 4k version (upgraded ram and processor) as it can last for many years to come. the normal fire tv stick hangs a lot.
but i will suggest an mi 4k box over fire stick any given day as it also supports USB playback.
I had bought the 4K Max @ 3,150 last october.
I do have a 4k and a 3rd gen firetv stick on different TV in the house. Amongst these can say the 4K Max is the best due to its better hardware.
To OP, what you bought is good.. don't bother about new launches, yours gonna last quite long.
TL;DR Even if one doesn't have a 4K tv it's better to get the firetv stick 4k for it's better hardware capability, everything will be smoother.
Yes. Even i bought for same price 2yrs back ( 7th august,2022) amazon big sale.

Works perfectly on HD Tv as well.
Initial Fire stick was seen as a product for using OTT and app useful apps via this.
But now they are into wider range.
If TV is Not 4k. Then how will it produce 4k picture ?
Because mainly people buy this for non smart TV.
Better to buy lowest price 4k display tv along with this stick.
